We stayed for 1 month so we got to know the place and the surroundings very well. (Long review)
HOST. It was obvious they put in a lot of work in the unit to make it feel like home. She was quick to reply to our emails and very resourceful when needed. The place was very nicely decorated.
LOCATION. It’s an easy 15 minute walk to the main strip at Champions Gate with all the services you need: Groceries, restaurants, bars, fuel, hairdresser, bank, etc. Very nice area for our daily morning walks. It’s right besides the I-4 for quick access, but the heavy traffic was an issue. The Orlando area is a very busy place between locals and visitors. So expect delays if you plan to use the I-4.
PROPERTY. It has been under new ownership since January 1, 2023. The main building and restaurant were locked. The pool bar was closed and the main gate was open 24/7. Workers were there every day doing maintenance or taking care of the grounds. Our building elevator broke down within the first week and was not repaired during our stay. Our unit was on the ground floor so it didn’t bother us (and not the host’s issue to resolve). Very nice pool area. The gym was okay for lifting weights. If cardio is your thing then you will be disappointed. The machines are old or broken down.
UNIT. I think we got the best unit on the entire property. The second building entering the gates on ground level, and right beside the pool and gym. Far enough not to hear the noise. It was also located on the opposite side of the building to I-4. Other renters could not sit on their balcony because of the noise. We also had shade all day which made it very comfortable to sit in the screen porch ( a lawn chair would have been a nice addition). We could not get mobile service in the unit (phone vs carrier network vs building structure?). However wifi was very strong on the entire property so no issues using « wifi calling ». If you are a light sleeper, you may not enjoy this unit. The (permanent) residents upstairs are heavy walkers so do expect noise before 7am and after 10pm. We tried to speak to them but weren’t having it. A few minor repairs in the unit is necessary, such as patio screen and loosen towel racks. The master bedroom shower tub is very slippery to get in. A rubber mat would be needed. The second bathroom is very nice and wheelchair accessible (walk in shower). A few mixing bowls would have been nice since we cooked many of our meals.
CONCLUSION: HIGHLY RECOMMEND
