About this property
Private Cabin with Lake & Mountain Views on 10 Acres - Near Resorts - Book Now!
Before booking, please read the "Important things to note before booking" at the end of this description. Thank you!
You honestly won't find another property like this! It's nestled along the treeline of a 50-acre organic farm with breathtaking views of the mountains and sunsets visible through our large floor-to-ceiling windows. Our other border runs along PA State Forest, and with our lake and stream that runs through the property, you get a true mountain escape. If you're looking for a private, outdoor mountain experience with plenty of space and amenities, then you've found it!
While private, we're conveniently located about 10 minutes from both Seven Springs and Hidden Valley. Many people find it to be the perfect location due to the close proximity to the resorts while also having access to markets, restaurants, shops, and other attractions only a couple of minutes away.
In the warmer seasons, enjoy the large front yard complete with provided outdoor sporting equipment and a volleyball area. There’s plenty of room for almost any outdoor sport you can think of. Sit back and relax on our 500-square-foot deck, complete with a propane grill and picnic table. Sip your favorite beverage while enjoying a panoramic view of beautiful mountain ridges. Or, grab your swimsuit and a fishing pole and head down to our lake. At night, unwind around the large fire pit while enjoying smores and listening to the summer night’s sounds including the soothing burble of the Pike Run stream that runs through our property. Stargazing is stunning!
In the colder months, enjoy the indoor fireplace while looking out at beautiful snowscapes through the large front windows. From board games to movies and video games, there should be no shortage of entertainment while indoors. Seven Springs Resort and Hidden Valley are both about a 10-minute drive and offer some of the best skiing in PA as well as snow tubing and plenty of indoor activities.
One main highlight of our property is our lake. It’s constantly fed by a freshwater intake from Pike Run which flows from deep in the mountains. It's a secluded and beautiful place (check out our pics), and great for swimming and fishing.
Unlike other properties up on the mountain, we're within 5 minutes from Donegal with restaurants, groceries, beer and wine, a local zoo, a family entertainment center (go-karts, mini-golf, etc.), and many other fun places to visit. The ICV biking/hiking trailhead is only a mile away as well as hiking in the Roaring Run Natural Area. The location is hands down the best in the area as it's central to the resorts, town, main area attractions, and State Parks. Ohiopyle State Park is only a scenic 25-minute drive away as well and is great for rafting and day trips.
Looking for a rustic cabin but don’t want to give up the modern amenities? No problem! We offer many of the amenities you are used to at home, such as:
- High-speed internet and WIFI + repeater for great coverage throughout. - 2 flat-screen TVs with cable (DVR, On-Demand, Amazon Prime Video, etc.) - Strong cellular service (Verizon's network but I assume others as well) - Dishwasher - Washer/Dryer - Full kitchen - Keurig with complimentary k-cups and a 12-cup coffee pot - Fridge with door ice and water - Whole house water filtration (crystal clear water with no “well taste” or smell) - And much more :)
For the sake of being conservative, we have the cabin listed as 3 bedrooms, but you could make a case for 4. The "4th" bedroom is only accessible by going through the 3rd so it "technically" doesn't qualify. They are separated by a wall with an "accordion-style" divider for a door. You can see this in the pictures.
There is also an expandable dining room table in the back that can comfortably fit 10 - 12 for larger gatherings.

COLDER SEASON BOOKINGS:
- 4WD/AWD is required during the colder season (typically November–March), regardless of current weather. Our gravel road can remain slick until fully thawed. Guests are responsible for ensuring their vehicle is appropriate for road conditions.
- Snow removal: We plow the road/driveway as needed. Guests may need to shovel/salt (provided) the steps and deck during their stay.
- Fireplace: Wood provided is for indoor use only and intended for normal daily fires, not continuous 24/7 burning. For outdoor bonfires, wood can be purchased nearby. Like most cabins with wood-burning fireplaces, there may occasionally be a mild natural wood scent, especially during colder weather. While most guests do not notice this, guests with sensitivities to wood smoke may wish to take this into consideration.
These notes are provided to help guests determine whether the cabin is a good fit for their needs and expectations.

This was a very well equipped cabin in a beautiful location, convenient to lots of activities. We stayed three nights but could have easily spent a week without running out of things to do. Communication from beginning to end was stellar. The family that owns this cabin clearly cares about the details and the guest experience.
Beautiful location. Scenery was incredible. Large yard for our dog to run around. Spacious cabin. The host was great, very easy to deal with, responded quickly to any question. Loved the history of the property also. Loved it.
The privacy you have on this property is great. There are trails through the woods close by was fun to walk out there at night. Good for stargazing too
We celebrated my mothers 90th birthday!! The deck was fantastic, with the peaceful backdrop of nature!! The fireplace inside is cozy, home was super stocked with everything!!. The host, Jim was very attentive to every need for this special occasion.
We booked our weekend as a mother/daughter getaway for 12 of us. The location and property were perfect. Such an easy drive to Seven Springs! The stay was turn-key! Our host was so helpful and available for questions. We will definitely come back!
My friends and I had the perfect weekend. The place was spotless, well supplied and the property is amazing - Its a slice of heaven. Jim is a very kind, respectful and responsive host. We will 100% be coming back!
It was exactly as described and it was perfect for what we wanted- a peaceful retreat with our dogs. The area was beautiful especially in the autumn season and very quiet. The owners were very responsive and easy to communicate with. We appreciated all the suggestions in the manual at the property and enjoyed the restaurants, hikes, and we were very close to the Frank Lloyd Wright homes that we toured during our stay. Fantastic trip all around!
I consider finding this property devine intervention as our first booking was cancelled. Jim and Mandie are awesome hosts. This rental was perfect! Our puppy loved every minute of being off leash and her first swim in the pond! Loved it so much, we stayed an exyra day! We will return for sure.
Our stay surpassed all expectations. The property was clean and very well appointed. All our needs as guests were provided and we loved the deck overlooking beautiful fields and hills. The beds were comfortable and plentiful. The large living room and view of sunsets, fireflies, and July 4 fireworks kept us very happy. We swam in and fished the private pond. Thank you! We intend to return!
Both the property and the owner are above and beyond. What’s listed for this property. We’ve rented a lot of family spots but this one is by far the best I give it 10 stars out of five. Please don’t tell anyone else about it. It’s that wonderful.
We've been coming to this cabin off and on for 17 years, and it never disappoints. It's rustic, yet modern -- new appliances and bathrooms, new washer-dryer, new master bedroom, etc. But it still feels like an old A-frame ski lodge from the 1970s, especially with the vintage carpeting and living room furniture. This place sleeps 11- pretty comfortably, and you can squeeze a few more in there with sofas and blow-up mattresses, if need be.The owners are very responsive and are super-helpful if you should need something on while you're there. The photos don't do the property justice -- there's so much space for kids to run around, play sports, throw a frisbee, and watch the stars at night. 10/10 -- great deal and a great property.
We had the absolute BEST time at the property. We traveled from Pittsburgh and met up with a few other families and their kids. The house is warm and welcoming. The property felt safe, quiet, and secluded. The deck was amazing to have dinner on and watch the sunset. The pond was incredible. It was a perfect place to play, reconnect with each other, and de stress for parents and kids. The house was in great shape, with tons of extras- life life jackets, bug spray, baby toys. Kids were able to explore the trees and adults were able to talk and laugh. An absolutely magical place- we can't wait to come back!
The primary reason for the stay was normally could see at Seven Springs, about a 12 minute drive away. Given the warm weather, we were also able to enjoy the property. We had bonfires each night, several trips to the pond (a must see) and we even walked to the winery next door. The location, check in and facilities were just as described. We made several meals for our large group and found the kitchen equipment, pantry items and cupboards to be stocked with more than what we needed for cooking/serving ease. There were many helpful notes around the home to aid whenever there may be a question. Communication was amazing during the stay. We would love to come back again!
Our group included our family of five along with some friends of ours who joined us with their two children. Our ski weekend getaway went quick and we enjoyed every minute of it. Nestled back on the edge of the forest we thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of its location. The walk through the woods and back to the pond was a bonus. We had plenty of room for our group of 9 and especially loved the common area with it's fabulous fireplace. We most certainly would love to visit again. Jim and Mandi thank you for sharing your very unique and awesome cabin. You thought of everything and were fabulous and gracious hosts! We made some great memories!
We had a great vacation at the cabin. It was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The yard was well-maintained so that we could enjoy some activities with the kids. We went to The Caddy Shak about 5 minutes away, The Sandcastle Park (1 hour), Laurel Caverns (45 minutes), 7-Springs (10 minutes)... All recommended day trips!
Check-in was easy. They provide lots of amenities for guests to use (PS2, K-cups, games, streaming services, wifi, laundry machines/detergent, fire pit). The owners were available by phone the whole time if we needed anything but I don't think we did.
Overall, I highly recommend for a relaxing getaway.
The home was wonderful, well stocked and perfect for the family away time! The host were amazing, they checked made sure we got into the home and made sure we had everything needed while we were there. The property was well maintained and clean, very peaceful. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.
This is a great place to get away and still have plenty to do. If you have dogs this is a great place with plenty for them to do as well. Look forward to going back soon.
