Le Charme is located on a small private holiday domain tucked away in an elevated position less than a kilometer from the market town of Chalais, in the Charente, our spacious ground floor villa Le Charme offers 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It sleeps up to 9 guests and is ideal for family or friends holidaying together.

The house is spacious, bright, and has a contemporary style. The garden has views over open countryside, a heated alarmed pool, a covered al-fresco dining area, with gas BBQ & grill, coal BBQ and a 80 square meters wooden decked terrace.
The domain offers the extra benefit of a play park for the little ones (visible from the villa), use of onsite tennis courts, a ping pong table and a petanque piste as well as use of communal bikes.
You can easily walk (20 min) or cycle (10 min) to your nearest town, Chalais. With the car, it will take approx 5 minutes.

Chalais has a railway station where trains run between Angouleme, Coutras and Bordeaux.
Angouleme, 45 minutes’ drive away, where the TGV gets you to Paris in less than 2 hours.
The Charente region is known for its excellent climate only beaten in France by the south coast! Local wine-tasting tours can be enjoyed tasting the local Pineau, various red, white and sparkling wines.
The region benefits from beautiful undulating hills and valleys, pretty little villages & market towns, and local freshwater lakes with sandy beaches (Etang Vallier, Aubeterre sur Dronne, St Aulaye ) jotted around the area - all within a short drive from the domain. During high season you can enjoy various evening markets, live music etc.

A 13-minute drive will bring you to the Circuit de Haute Saintonge - famous for its motorsports & bike racing as well as go-karting.

Further afield: - visit the bustling cosmopolitan city of Bordeaux (1hr away) and wine town St Emillion (50 minutes) - the perfect day trip, a true paradise for wine connoisseurs.
The beaches of the Atlantic (Royan, St Palais sur Mer, St Georges de Didonne) are approx. 90 minutes drive away. It takes approx. 2 hours to visit La Rochelle.

Distances (by car) to wedding locations/venues in the area: Chateau de Valouze : 18 min (18km), Aubeterre sure Dronne: 15min (14 km), Manoir de Longeveau: 21 min (20 km), Chateau Mas de Montet: 22 min (20km), Chateau de Lerse: 24 min (25km).
