"The overall property is very beautiful, located in a forest setting. The open air restaurant with its observation deck is a great place for birdwatching since there are feeders at the edge of the deck and the staff puts out fruit and seeds early when the birds are active. The staff is wonderful, very helpful and friendly! And the location is very near the river tours and Carara National Park. The only negative thing we can offer is that the standard room is very basic, and shows some signs of needing renovation. We had no hanging closet and no furniture with drawers, so were living out of our suitcases. Still, we loved everything else and would return, but maybe try to get an upgraded room. My overall summary: a 5 star experience, with a 3 star room. Pura Vida!"

"Once we found the location it was lovely. It was wonderful to have a sitting area as well as a pool to relax in after being out all day. The location is very safe and very modern. Our space was roomy and provided all we needed to cook our own meals and relax well. The person we communicated with via WhatsApp was very personable and responded quickly. On site staff (grounds people) were kind and accessible. It is difficult to find as it is surrounded by a high fence with green covering. Looking for the modern building you see in the fotos won’t help as that beautiful building is behind the gate. The one critique we have is that sheets and towels seemed poorly laundered. They were stained. All else was very good and we recommend the location as it privides easy access to activities in Tarcoles and Jaco."

"We had a lovely stay in Chacarita. The backyard is beautiful and the private beach access was so fun. We loved the pool and spent much of our time outside watching the lizards and squirrels. The shower doesn't have hot water, but it was refreshing from the heat. Especially since we had a couple of minor issues with the air conditioning not fully working. Mario was a wonderful caretaker and made many aspects of our trip much easier. Maria was a responsive and generous host, allowing us some flexibility in checking out."

"By far, the very best thing about this property was the 2 caretakers. They were so helpful and lovely, we wanted to take them home with us! The pool was absolutely necessary and perfect, the neighborhood stores and restaurants were friendly and served us with big smiles, and shopping/groceries/excursions were not far away. I will say: if you’re looking for a resort-type experience, this is not it. This is a rural community and the home is set up comfortably but not touristy if that makes sense. It was just what our big party of 11 was looking for and we thoroughly enjoyed our family time together there. Thank you to the owner and 2 lovely caretakers for all of your help and for making this an unforgettable trip!"
