Gîte 20 min du Puy du Fou

8/10 Good

"2 minus points:From directions given, not that easy to find (small La Touche sign partially hidden by foliage and invisable in the dark.Kitchen a bit inadequate, lack of work top space.Overall 4*, Celine is a lovely host and we would stop there again."

LOGIS HOTEL LE RABELAIS

10/10 Excellent

"Good hotel in the middle of town but needs a few bits of maintenance (e.g. leaking shower doors) and a few more members of staff. The restaurant was good with reasonbably priced meals although the chef needs to tone down the use of olive oil on the fish dish as it was swimming in it, and also learn the difference between saignant and bien cuit as my saignant steak was almost trop cuit! The main issue was the breakfast as a party of 40 Dutch tourists decended on the restaurant before checking out at 0900. When the few other guests arrived there were no clean tables and no food left. Understandable but what was incredible was that the young wonan in charge of breakfast was on heer own and overwhelmed. To her credit, once I'd alerted the lone receptionist to this she came and pitched in, as did the guests, setting tables etc. but that was areal failur of management. Why 5* then? Because it has potential and was perfect for our overnight stay with secure parking and (eventually) a great breakfast. If i'd been there for a week I'd probably have dropped it a star or two."

Isis, small house, South Vendée, Puy du fou, Marais Poitevin

8/10 Good

"Logement propre, literie confortable, piscine et jeux pour toute la famille. Propriétaires accueillants et de très bon conseil. La région est très agréable entre les différents villages médiévaux, marais Poitevin, Puy du fou...Nous avons passé un séjour agréable. Merci beaucoup"

ACE Hôtel Vendée Sainte Hermine

8/10 Good

"This is a budget hotel that punches above its weight. The staff are welcoming, the rooms basic but clean, the location is not at all beautiful, but in a great location for those travelling on A roads and the restaurant attached to it is better than your average chain, the chef is good at what he does and the beer is rather lovely."

La Libaudiere

10/10 Excellent

"Everything was perfect during our stay at La Libaudiere. The property is peaceful and quiet, in a rural area. The owners are very helpful and friendly. We rented the 'cabane perchee' and it was a great experience, a comfortable place in a big tree. It was very relaxing to stay a few nights there, breakfast was good too. Thank you to the owners for creating a great place like this one."
