"Let’s start with the host, Ana. She was exceptional as a host and her home made fresh bread and goat cheese were a treat! Her rental unit was fantastic, a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bath stone house on a hill overlooking a mountain!. The upstairs patio and the 1st floor patio and jacuzzi made our stay that much better! "We had a few nights to attend a nearby wedding at Quinta das Silveiras. Well located, parking availability ebbs and flows through the day. Breakfast was 1000x worth it. The front staff was super helpful when we had a back up in our shower. Amazing experience all round."

"Beautiful and in a perfect location. Close to everything and feels like you’re on a tropical resort. The restaurant Mensa was perfect for poolside eats during the day or dinner in the evening. Super clean, well maintained and very friendly/attentive staff. I wish I stayed longer!"

"Very modern style. Rooms are not large, but rather efficiently designed. Had two rooms for our family of four. They were adjacent but not connecting. Worked well for us. One of the rooms has twin beds and a futon and other room had a double bed and a couch and neither appeared too crowded despite the size of the rooms not being so large in size. Would stay here again."

"Where do we start. This was a fabulous hotel. Everything we expected and hoped for. Sonia looked after us from the moment we arrived and we could not have wished for a better host. If you want a modern hotel with square rooms and satellite TV, this is not the place for you. Keeping the style of its initial build 100 years ago makes this place very special from the opulence of the residents lounge, the ship like dining room and the rooms which are old but well cared for. We were fortunate to have a room facing the river with large balcony doors and air conditioning. The breakfast was exceptional. We dropped one star on the amenities only because it would have been nice to have a bar. To be fair there is an honesty bar but its not the same. Deserves all 5 stars overall and we re already looking at dates to return."
