The room was dusty and dirty. There was hair in the bed and in the shower. The walls were thin. After we had left the police showed up, unsure why.

As the saying goes, "you get what you pay for"-- something I had to re-learn after staying at Newport Inn. My queen room did not match the photo listed on the hotels website. The bed's comforter was a dated print and screamed motel, unlike the photo on the website showing a plush, white, modern comforter with a OYO pillow accent. The so-called "breezeway" that is the hallway upstairs and leads to all second-floor rooms was filthy and had either human or dog piss riddled throughout. This breezeway should no doubt have drains so it can be properly cleaned regularly, but there are grossly no drains and the flooring oddly looks to be a laminate wooden flooring meant for interiors. The flooring inside our room was gritty and felt like it hadn't been properly mopped in a long time. It's pretty bad when you feel the need to put on socks before getting out of bed in order to walk on the floors without being disgusted. We also had to move the TV closer to our bed since it was awkwardly set a good distance away from us, which led us to discover more filth behind the TV stand. There was also an outdoor light shining into our room despite our curtains being closed, which we attempted to block out with the use of towels. All in all, I would recommend paying the extra $50 to stay elsewhere.

The manager was very friendly and helpful. Made a great recommendation for a seafood place downtown. Right on the 101, so there is some road noise.

I’ll start with the positive, the guy in the office was very friendly and helpful. However the room wasn’t completely clean and had an odor. There are a couple broken down cars in the parking lot, that look like they’ve been there a while. The breezeways smelled like smoke because the smoking rules aren’t followed. The office isn’t open 24 hours, so when my buddy arrived for a different room, nobody was there. He called a number on the door and found out his room was given away due to his late arrival. It is a very basic room with no desk, microwave or closet to hang clothing, It will do in a pinch, but I won’t be back.
