About this property
The Little Red Cabin! Less than 15 minutes to Okemo! Close to Everything VT!
Our two bedroom one bath cabin got a refreshing renovation! Super comfy bedrooms with expansive family style living space. The beautiful woodstove will keep you warm and chances are you'll cozy up! Bring your comfiest slippers to really get into a relaxed vaca vibe! Located on 5 acres in Cavendish, you're only 15 minutes from Okemo but get the authentic Vermont experience.Perfect for a family of four and we welcome groups of four with a queen and bunk beds. WiFi and a smart TV are at the ready and we encourage you to take in the atmosphere and natural beauty. As it may not be obvious, the brand new couches do recline for extra comfort! The drive to Okemo affords you beautiful views of the mountain on scenic dirt roads. Less than 1/4 mile from VAST trails. We find it enchanting every day! In the summer we are closely situated to lakes, hiking, biking, golf, live music, breweries! All the things that make Vermont so beautiful, adventurous and relaxing! Please send a message if you're interested in our winter seasonal rental rates and dates! Please note: "mud season" which typically begins mid April and can last into May, makes the dirt roads difficult to navigate if you are not in an awd, truck, or taller vehicle. If the winter is unseasonably warm, the mud can come early. We drive a Volkswagen wagon (sedan with a hatch back) year round, but are experienced. In the winter, you will need all-wheel-drive or snow tires to ensure your travel. Changing road conditions are a part of being in Vermont and are unfortunately, out of our control.

A cute and neat cabin to spend a short summer vacation. Everything is at hand. It's off busy streets and highways, and you can watch all kinds of animals right at the cabin.
We enjoyed our stay at this quite, cozy, and clean cabin. Surrounded by the beautiful fall foliage, the cabin is a gem! The wood burning fire place made it perfect!
The cabin and location were both perfect for our family of four (wife and two kids - 9 and 7). It's a nice location; close enough to Rutland, Killington, Woodstock and Quechee State Park. It has a real nice, isolated feel, in the hills of Vermont all while being 8 minutes from Singleton's General store which has everything you could need. Thanks for letting us enjoy your place!
The cabin was well equiped for a cozy relaxing stay in the fall. Located on back roads, the traffic which goes by the cabin is very minimal, and the location gave us a glimpse of Vermont that probably most tourists don't get to see. We used it mostly as a base camp to drive around the state to find the autumn foliage hot spots. But then when it got dark, the cabin living space was very comfortable to wind down for the night in front of the woodstove. I very much would recommend this cabin for anyone who's looking for a quiet place in the mountains.
Cabin was very clean with that back woods rustic appeal. Great place to get away and be one with nature.

Nice little cabin. Close to Okemo. Clear communication. Clean. Microwave would be a good addition. It was not fun to keep using stove to heat everything.
We loved it but the kitchen needed more lighting and of course it would have been nice if the bathroom had been larger Cozy furniture, decor and wood stove - loved the large kitchen -
Lovely little getaway. Peaceful and stress free. Everything you could possibly need in one neat little package. Owner could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. Will be back.
We stayed here for a ski weekend at Okemo and loved everything about the little red cabin! The wood stove kept it toasty after a long day in the cold. Highly recommended - hopefully we will be back some day!
The perfect quiet getaway spot! My husband and I stayed for a long weekend to relax and getaway before a hectic spring/summer schedule starts. It was amazing.
Only downside is that there wasn’t a microwave.
Other than that we can’t wait to see when we can come back!
Great spot to crash while out adventuring in Vermont
I enjoyed the quaintness of the cabin. It was spring and had the usual fluctuation of temperatures. How nice to put a fire in the wood stove for the chilly evening and rainy day. We used this spot as our landing spot between day bicycle rides. We visited a friend in Springfield and was able to see their work in the local gallery. We were a bit surprised by the long list of rules. The wet towel rule seemed a bit condescending and the threat of leaving any food behind…
The cabin was pretty much as expected. There was one leather couch that was very worn out. The bathroom was quite small but manageable. The rest of the cabin was great and comfortable. The kitchen had a toaster over and drip coffee maker and all utensils. The first day we had a problem getting the TV to work but the owner went out of her way to fix the issue. It was very easy to communicate with her and she responded immediately. There was a wood burning stove but cannot comment any further because we didnt use it. Would recommend this cabin.
The listing was accurate as written. Pictures were representative of what we found. The listing does not show the bathroom, which is literally about 5' by 6'. If you are a big person, this will be a sore spot. Don't plan on shaving your legs in the shower.
An easy drive to places of interest and we found the hostess very responsive.
I have learned to not only look at what you see in the listing, but what you don't see.
I would rate this listing as a 4+.
