"We loved the hotel, the staff & the location. My only complaint is that I booked a room with a balcony and we got a room with a garden view instead. Other than that, it was great."
Charming 19th century stone built cottage. Magnificent location
10/10 Excellent
"One of the best experiences I have had in traveling. This cottage is delightful in every way- peaceful and homey, well equipped, and in a gorgeous setting. I will always remember our meals outside, reading by the pool, and hilly walks. Colin and Francesca have made a very special place, and while we hail from Ohio and Michigan, everyone will benefit from their time spent here. I wish we had booked for much longer and used this as our base for shorter trips."
"The hotel is very well located close to all the tourist sites, bars and restaurants. The hotel rooms are clean and average size, a little dated but OK. Breakfast is fair value with fresh fruits, pastries, cold cuts, tea/coffee etc and a small hot section.
Parking is available for Euro15 a day and it is linked to the hotel, so very well located.
The Spa is excellent and well worth using"
"As the Parador was originally the town hall, room would have been large, therefore bedrooms very spacious - largest we've ever stayed in!
Only hotel we have stayed in where we had to choose a br'fast time - disappointing
as nice when relaxing, to be able to 'turn up' when it suits you! Not on the hour!
fyi Some breakfast portions very small for what we were paying, eg smoked salmon triangles approx 2 inches across, 1 inch deep at longest depth."
"This place is really bare bones. That's not entirely a bad thing. It's nice to be out of the city in the quiet countryside, but this is more of a hostel than a hotel. The room is basic and the bathroom is average. We had a 2nd floor room with a balcony which was really nice for sitting out listening to the quiet. The balcony view of the rolling countryside is very nice.
The photos show a pool, but I couldn't find one. There looks like there's a great set up here with a bar and what looks like a full kitchen. Unfortunately, there was absolutely no staff there while we were at the property. Overall, the place was fine for the night and was very basic. Maybe a bit too basic for the cost, but there was nothing really bad about the place. Just don't expect much in terms of frills."
"We had a wonderful stay at this lovely property. The hotel is beautifully decorated, with gorgeous planting and lush greenery throughout the grounds.
Our suite was incredibly spacious and nicely styled, with a huge, comfortable bed with excellent pillows. The large living room area featured a sizable TV and plenty of cozy seating, and minibar and great selection of glassware. The bathroom was also very large, featuring excellent shower water pressure and a bidet. Having a private outdoor seating area was another fantastic bonus.
The staff were uniformly lovely and polite. A special shout-out goes to the breakfast team, who were incredibly kind and accommodating with requests; the food itself was excellent with very generous portions. The outside patio, filled with lovely plants and trees, overlooks a clean and beautifully presented pool area.
Cons:
Bathroom Odor: There was a noticeable drain/sewage smell in the bathroom (though we didn't mention it during our stay, so staff didn't have a chance to address it). Also personally not a fan of the glass bathroom door open at the top.
Accessibility: The hairdryer is mounted very high up. Additionally, the steps leading from the living room to the bedroom are hard to see and would benefit from contrasting edges to prevent tripping.
Light Bleed: Bright light from the corridor leaks through the cracks of the room door, which faces the bed directly. Installing a blackout curtain over the inside of the door would easily fix this."
