"A most enjoyable stay. Staff welcoming, helpful and friendly. Room well appointed with very comfortable bed. Breakfast good and dinner surprisingly good. Our compliments to the chef! Property was easy to locate from nearby motorway exit, and only 5 minute drive from the beach. Lovely outdoor area with plenty of shaded seating, sun loungers and poolside bar. "I was very disappointed by the hotel. The best part was the warm water in the

. It is very poor value. Specifically, the room was noisy from a water filtration system overhead. I complained and the noise was stopped but so was all the water to my room. Fortunately, I’d already showered, but still had no water for sink or toilet until after breakfast. Talking of which, that consisted of three seriously under-baked croissants and a glass of orange juice. Extremely poor choice of food. No food...

"The property is beautiful and the staff were more than happy to help and facilitate our every needs. A male bar tender / waiter did let down the team by being short and rude but this did not affect our stay and it is not fair on the rest of the team who went over and above to please us. We stayed one night for our 25th wedding anniversary. The hotel spa pools are natural thermal pools and it is clear that when this hotel was refurbished, no expense was spared, we loved it albeit I can see why...

"Hotel Carignano is a perfect hotel to stay in with their great staff, easy check in, a location that is very amenable to the walled old town Lucca (tip: free parking at Piazzale Don Franco Baroni. It's less than 5 minutes walk to the walls from there.) The breakfast buffet has ample and a variety of foods to select from. A truly great hotel to stay in and enjoy all that Lucca has to offer!! "
