"It was probably the nicest hotel in Amelie-les-bains, which has few operating hotels and not an especially beautiful small town in the Pyrenees. The town is full of retirees and supports elderly French people there to take the cure in the Roman baths. We appreciated the AC and the bike room at the Castel hotel. Most people stay for one night en route to another place. We stayed for 4 days using it as a base for a cycling holiday. The housekeeping is done only once a week in the rooms, and the guest laundry machines were broken so we couldn’t use them. Our studio room was small and in need of updating. There were holes in the wall that needed patching. The staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast was good. It was important to reserve for dinner since the restaurant was full every night with locals and guests bringing their dogs. They have a dog named obelisk and welcome all canines."

"Hébergement très bien situé, au calme, propre et parfaitement équipé (il manque juste un couteau à pain).Facile d'accès même sans véhicule, on est au centre-ville en un quart d'heure à pied.Je n'ai eu aucun contact avec le propriétaire puisque je n'avais aucune demande particulière mais je regrette ce manque d'humanité. Même si c'est très simple, la boîte à clefs n'est pas très conviviale. C'est mon seul regret sinon tout s'est parfaitement bien passé. Et je reviendrai très certainement dans cet appartement. Je le conseillerai également à des amis. Agnès"

"Helpful staff, nice room. Pool and hot tub was always too busy, some people just hogged the tub for hours without consideration BUT the pool was a bonus not an essential. "
