Rock Mill Park encompasses the historic Rock Mill, a stunning grist mill built in 1824 above the Hocking River Falls and the scenic Rock Mill Covered Bridge, constructed in 1901. Standing 90 feet above the gorge of the falls, Rock Mill was one of a dozen mills in the area whose power source was the Hocking River. The mill was in operation grinding flour and corn into wheat and meal as late at 1905.

Lockville Canal Park is a 7 acre green space that contains three intact locks that once made up part of the central section of the Ohio and Erie Canal, a 308-mile highway of water that connected Lake Erie at Cleveland to the Ohio River at Portsmouth. Construction on the locks began on July 4th, 1825 and took over seven years to complete. The canal system propelled Ohio's economy from last in the nation to nearly first in just a few years.

Seen in the background is Hartman Number 2 Covered Bridge, a late nineteenth-century covered bridge featuring a queenpost truss, shake roofing and red plank siding.

Only stayed one night. Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Room was not as quiet as some of the other reviews indicated. Obviously being so close to the airport you can hear the planes. It was not constant so it was not an issue for us.
