The location was excellent, walking distance to everything. The castle is right across the street. the hotel is old, not a complaint just stating a reason why one lift was broken down. my room was very small and I had no USB plug in my room. However the employees let me plug USB at the bar. I would stay here again. thanks

Room for two should have more than one towel. Blinds and other areas that obviously don’t get cleaned very often were very dusty. The beds were really comfortable and had a great sleep. Poor quality English breakfast items and, the fruit options were fresh watermelon or tinned peaches with some McDonald’s style cheese slices!

The stay started out terrible: phone, toilet, lights, electrical and room temp didn’t work. We notified management and were moved to another room which was wonderful. Overalls very nice stay.

Lovely old building, with a sweeping staircase near to the entrance of the hotel. My premium room was large with three windows and a large super king size bed. The bathroom had a wash hand basin with several cracks in it. I found the food poor quality and expensive. Only one of the lifts were working which staff used as well as guests.

Lovely staff in a beautiful old building. Rooms are fairly basic but very affordable considering the excellent central location. Parking is a bit of a pain, but concierge has a voucher for nearby parking deck.

For a one night stay it was just about OK, however rooms were hot, windows wouldn’t stay open, no aircon, bed was dreadful, and the toilet had a leak at the back. Investment is needed in the rooms. Lobby area was good. Had I stayed longer I would have asked to move. It will sell based on location which is excellent.

Bar and reception staff (Joey) very helpful. Sadly no spirits in bar due to recent guest theft! Also the car park is closed so we had an overnight NCP for over £30!!

I just love this hotel. Yes, its heyday has passed but it is steeped in history, especially for rugby lovers. We arrived early and our room was ready. We’d booked a very affordable suite, which was gratefully used as the weather outside was awful. It was clean, comfortable and a good size. We’ve stayed here many times and will do so again in future without hesitation. Location is very central and convenient for the Principality, Cardiff Arms Park and SWALEC (cricket) stadiums. It’s a 20 minute walk from the Cardiff City Stadium.
