Cute place to stay

The place was clean and the host was super nice! We were in town for a wedding at Havisham and this location was perfect! We were able to walk there in just a few minutes!

Awesome stay

We loved it, and will absolutely rent it again, it was clean, comfortable, cozy, the hot tub was perfect after a day on the wine trails and at the bourbon bar!

Wine Trail

Owner was able to get us in on short notice. Cute and modern two bedroom right in the heart of the wine trail. A great hub near many wineries. We enjoyed walking on the trail right outside the door. Great place to stay!

Ladies Weekend

The loft is a great place to stay if you’re in the area for hiking and/or wine tasting. Central location, clean and comfortable beds. Would stay here again and definitely recommend!

Our stay was very pleasant, very clean unit which was stocked with plenty of coffee and snacks for our three night stay. Perfect location to enjoy the Shawnee wine trail.

Quiet Little Get Away

The loft was very comfortable and clean. Very close to three wineries and within decent driving distance to a few others. The town does close early so that makes it difficult for dinner times but it works if you plan ahead.

This place was perfect for our Shawnee National Forest Adventure. We were there early in the week so the local things we liked were not open. Great Value, but loses a star for dirty front windows, no dishwasher and no ceiling fans.

Perfect location!

My husband and I enjoyed our trip so much! It was the perfect location for the wine trail. There is the neatest bourbon bar across the street. I definitely recommend stopping by there, as it has the coolest atmosphere. The home was very clean and in a quiet area. It was definitely a place we would stay again. I’ve already recommended it to others.

Convenient location

Great location to visit the wine trail. Property was very clean & loved the lush towels. The mattress was softer than I prefer. The living room furniture was comfy but faux leather cracked. The snack basket was a nice touch.

Small town feel

This loft is a perfect location close to several wineries in the area. Little traffic moved on the Main Street and this cabin is across the street to the Havisham Bourbon bar. There is a "Duty" store at the end of the block to purchase ice, snacks, and soda. The only annoyance was several dogs that roamed the street barking every night.

Modern/rustic

My fiance went to SIU and lived in the area for a total of 8yrs, so he has been wanting to take me to Carbondale, Giant City, and many of the wineries in the area. The stay in Alto Pass is charming, I've never stayed in a 300 person town. We stayed in the front unit and it was comfortable, and extremely clean... no dust bunnies, left over food, or random unwanted hairs in sight lol. The town itself does have short trail right outside the front door, a small corner store, and a bourbon bar across the street. There is also a winery 3minutes driving. We will be back for SIU events and hopefully we'll be able to stay in alto pass again!

Great location!

So many good things about this house- great location, so cute, stocked with snacks. My two complaints are 1) the furniture. The couch and chairs are flaking leather, and it’s all over the floors. You can’t lay on the couch, the flakes get everywhere then. I found them in the bed, in my hair… I think that needs to be taken care of. 2) we found a dead mouse in a trap under the couch. Really wish that would have been checked and dealt with before we got there. All in all, I do recommend this house still. Location is solid, it’s so close to wineries and the bourbon bar, and there’s a hiking trail right outside. And the store front makes for a cute getaway house.

Great location with lots of nearby wineries. Cute & clean property. Owner was very reaponsive. Slept 4 of us very comfortably. The bourbon bar across the street was nice, I would recommend bringing groceries for some snacks. Will definitely be back.
