Feeling like a glitzy jetsetter
I booked a standard duplex and did not know that this means the view is down the busy main road in Sea Point so cannot open the sliding doors or windows due to noise. The duplex was on the 4th floor. I then realised as a Gold member I could have been offered a free upgrade. After chatting to the friendly reception staff and the manager on duty we reached a win-win situation, I just paid in a little bit to get a super upgrade to a penthouse duplex suite on the 5th floor!!! I already booked a very good low season winter's rate so this was an amazing deal. Amazing large patio at the back (same level as bedroom) with a view of Lion's Head hill and to the front a spectecular view of the Atlantic Ocean. The lounge and kitchen level also had a balcony with a sea view. I would recommend to rather park on the 1st level as the basement level is very small and tight. This was a once in a lifetime stay as the hotel will be renovated soon and I am sure it will most likely be much much more expensive then.

There are a few issues with this property. Firstly and most importantly, South Africa has rolling blackouts around two to three times a day. This Property does not have a backup generator at all. This means complete darkness with limited backup lighting - nor do the elevators work during blackouts, sonic you stay there don’t be on the 4th floor. This is not disclosed in their website or on Expedia. Almost all hotels in South Africa have adequate power backups. Secondly, staff are quite unfriendly and unhelpful. It seemed everything was a hassle. I requested a an hour later checkout and was refused without checking their system and the hotel was clearly empty. In addition you cannot charge things at the bar to your room. Small things that may irritate travelers. Room wise, it’s ok but not great. Despite having ‘VIP’ access we were given a room facing the main road in the loud side of the hotel. The cheap plastic blinds don’t block out the sun so you should expect to be awake very early especially in summer. The shower gel in the bathroom had some mold on the bottle. All in all there are much better options on the Atlantic seaboard at that price.

Lovely stay at Bantry Bay
Nice hotel conveniently located in a beautiful part of town. Service was excellent, breakfast was good, room amenities were great. Only issue was the lack of sufficient generator backup during electricity load shedding periods in the area; we were told that the hotel was in the process of getting the issue fixed.

Overall a wonderful play to unwind in Seapoint
Overall i enjoyed my stay at this wonderful establishment. My only minor issues related to what was included in my booking as free. I had free self parking yet i was asked both on arrival and departure to pay for parking, however on both occasuons when i told the receptionists parking was included they said its ok. I was also supposed ro get a free bottle of wine during my stay which i did not get. Im not sure if this was reflected in the booking that was sent to the hotel from hotels.com.

GREAT SEAVIEW
Sea facing rooms are large. You have a separate lunge and kitchen from the main bedroom and parking is now free. Breafast is more than enough catering for both hot and cold. I come here year on year as its a great location and a great seaview

Reat stay.
The hotel was nice. The location was great. There was an electricity shutdown for a couple of times in our stays there. The service is great and the staff are excellent.

This suite hotel is only a block from the beach. Our room on the 3rd floor had a nice view of the ocean. Also, its within walking distance to shops and restaurants. We especially liked Sundoo for Indian food. My only complaint is that the seagulls are very loud. They woke us up each morning!

Bantry bay .Alexander road.
In a nice location. Next to red bus tour stop. Very helpful staff.Breakfasts fab. Our duplex suite had 2 single beds,a pull down double bed. Having two bathrooms was convenient.Small kitchen area. Cleaned each day. Would recommend.

Good stay would go back
The bungalows are really nice and bathroom very spacious. The rooms themselves can be a little warm, even with the air conditioning as cold as it will go. Security regularly go round the bungalows which is reassuring too, however, the flash lights were a little anoying at times. Breakfast is pretty good, but the process can be a little confusing, eg. having to sign a book to say you've eaten and would you like to tip (we didn't) the biggest downside is that being the hotel at the bottom of the hill, getting around can take longer, as not all the drivers know where the bungalows are and we did feel like 3rd class citizens at times. We found it easier to get the bus to and from the main car park and walking over.

Avoid the room with a city view if possible, room looking onto a busy main road, in a relatively run down area. We upgraded to a duplex luxury suite because of the city view room we were allocated. This room however was not of the standard we had experienced previously. The redeeming feature was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

Stunning hotel in great location
My second stay in this hotel. Absolutely stunning. Had the two level penthouse suite with private sundeck. Great views, great wifi, good aircon. Breakfast very good, and the staff are very friendly, especially Lea at breakfast. Can't wait to return.
