"Oh, wow! Kinda felt like we were in a Vrbo ad… The house is a beautifully renovated old home just across from the water, and a couple hundred yards from the beach. Beds were luxurious, bookcases of interesting books. The neighbourhood is of older, well looked after houses on a quiet cul de sac on the ocean. Couldn’t be better."

"The Mahone Bay Beach House was the perfect place to start our vacation in Nova Scotia. It is an easy drive from Halifax Airport and immediately welcomed us in to relax on the deck, inhale the fresh coastal air and take in the sounds of the birds and boats in the harbour. The house is just as advertised with all the amenities available and a nice cheery decor. The master bedroom has a terrific view over the water. After a short sunny nap on the deck we walked down the street and had a nice dinner...

"The Overlook was the perfect spot to explore and enjoy the beauty of the southern shore and lighthouse trail. The house itself was incredibly comfortable and well appointed, with a beautiful view of the shore. Our host was welcoming and quick to respond to any questions we had. All in all, a great place to relax and enjoy nature."

"Our family of 6 stayed here for a week. We used the house as both a place to relax and as a jumping off point to do other activities in Nova Scotia. We loved it here. We enjoyed numerous outings on Ponhook Lake in the canoes, kayaks and stand up paddleboard provided by the owner. The house is beautiful, clean and very well kept up. The location is stunning, with the beautiful Ponhook lake in a wilderness setting with endless opportunities for exploration. A perfect place to stay if you want to...

"This place was incredible. Lovely decor, unbelievable views from almost every window, and right on the water! It's close to great swimming beaches, and we enjoyed checking out "The Ovens", Rose Bay General Store, and Hirtles Beach! Some wonderful meals in Lunenberg (the Beach Pea was awesome!) and Mahone Bay (Oh my Cod!). An amazing family vacation with lots to see and do in the area."

It lacked a number of things that make life comfortable such as curtains (we were up with the sun), a place to unpack or even put a suitcase other than the floor, end tables and reading lamps, microwave etc. To be fair there was no microwave listed so it's on me that I didn't notice. "I loved staying on the peaceful outskirts of Lunenburg with a water view. This beautifully decorated gem of a cottage is super clean, comfortable and perfectly outfitted. Joan met and oriented me and provided the support to find my way to the best beaches, restaurants, trails etc. for my stay. She is the great balance of helpful and respectful. The area is gorgeous and I want to return!"
