Enjoy your own space on the sands of the long, wide beach. Few vendors offer beach gear hire, so be sure to bring your own sunscreen, towels, drinking water and sun umbrellas. Watersports equipment hire is easy to find on the beach, however, and dive and sailing tours operate frequently from these shores. Hire a paddleboard or windsurf and spend a few hours on the water. Try some regional cuisine at the Campello Beach promenade after your day on the sand.
Take a stroll along the shoreline and admire the brightly coloured beachfront houses. These were once the simple abodes of local fisherman but have since become renovated, up-market homes. The cheery, multicoloured tones of the houses make for a great photo opportunity.
Try some of the local seafood at one of the restaurants dotted between the houses. The fresh fish served here is sourced directly from the daily fish auctions at the harbour. Visit the auctions yourself in the afternoons.
Campello Beach is situated approximately 13 kilometres (8 miles) south of Alicante and is easy to reach by car, tram or taxi. There is plenty of free parking in town.
