The managers were very helpful. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. It had the added bonus of an in room washing machine.

The manager had attitude, room was ok but just barely air conditioners only worked half the time. It seemed dirty so probably was. Pool’s was filthy. Not happy will never stay there again

Tradewinds was spacious, clean and well situated. The appartment was unserviced and this was reflected in in a better price. Well pleased with this choice.

The room was very tired, broken kitchen drawers, there was mould on the ceiling of 2nd bedroom. Pillows to flat and requested a couple more but was told there were 2 pillows per bed & 4 for the double bed. So we had to buy an extra couple ourselves. Probably won’t stay there again.

Good 2 bed apartment, with separate living area. No problems with the accommodation at all. The front desk was often unmanned, while the staff serviced the apartments. There was a 25 minute walk to the centre. Overall pleased with our stay

We stayed for 3 days, the 2 bedroom apartment had everything that we needed. The rule book was a bit daunting eg: sugar satchel 10 cents, everything had a price. We did have to wash all cutlery and glasses before we used them as they were dirty. BBQ in pool area was filthy. We did have a very relaxing time and the walk to shops and restaurants is not very far.

Our stay was ok… we booked it with the intent of it being just a place to sleep & shower and would spend very little time here. It was clean I’ll give them that and the bathroom was relatively new. Our balcony had a nice view over the back garden. We booked & paid for a portacot which on arrival was told they had none left so our 2 month old had to sleep in her pram which was not ideal. Our aircon in the main room stopped working on day 2/4. Didn’t bother asking for maintenance as it’s time consuming & didn’t want someone in our room. I did think booking this place it would be closer to everything (or anything) beware it’s a big walk!! Next time I’d book near the esplanade now having visited. All in all it was OK.

An adequate apartment, great value

This place epitomizes the word average. There is nothing great about this place nor is there anything horrible. Our floor was very dirty. It wasn't visibile dirt or anything obnoxious but after walking around for half an hour, the bottom of my foot was black. Also had a few cigarettes in the cushions of our couch and neither of us smoke so I question how well things are cleaned. Location is fine. It's a 15 minute walk to a decent grocery store or you can go to the terribly overpriced convenience store a few minutes away. Pool was nice to swim in and check-in/check-out was pretty easy. I will probably never visit Cairns again because we live so far away but if we do come back, we probably wouldn't stay here again. It wasn't a bad stay but it wasn't great either. Like I said, very average.

At first we thought the AC was just kickstarting. But coming back to a unit that's hot on a hot and humid day is not pleasing at all. We then noticed the AC was not cooling as expected, we left it to cool the room but came back to a hot room again (we were drenching and fanning profusely) as the aircon turned off by itself. Tried to cool the room again at 18c but nope, the aircon was not cooling at all even at the bedrooms. Whenever we come bavk there was a pool of water just under the lounge AC. We couldn't complain at time as we were busy out and about and it's late whenever we come back to the apartment. Sensored AC is not ideal specially on hot humid days. Management should consider your paying tenants not just them being able to save.

Beautiful location, can hear waves at night, close

We enjoed staying there. Spaceous and well placed apartment, very close to the beach.Also had everything we needed. The only thing that wasn't in excellent condition was the bathroom as looked old. The apartment was clean and had good receptionist, very helpful.

Our holiday in NQ

Tradewinds McLeod holiday apartments in Cairns is a very good and convenient venue for holiday makers. I am happy to recommend this to anybody who is planning to travel to NQ. Nice rooms and a living room, neat and clean kitchen and bathroom, beautiful pool, safe on-site parking - with everything I am looking for. My family will be here again during our next visit to NQ.

Ok but try somewhere else next time.

The room was a good size and nice and clean. The Beds were hard and uncomfortable. The Manager was not very pleasant and seemed cut our for some other line of work. Wasn't horrible but wasn't very pleasant either.

Trip to Cairns

Here are a few tips you should know before you book at the tradewinds: 1 - wireless wifi is only for 1 devise and is not included in your stay. 2- They charge for extra toilet paper (you get 1 roll)!!! 3 - They charge for sugar/coffee/small milk/tea bags and may other things. 4 - They nickel and dime you for basic ammonites that are typically included daily at a hotel. 5 - The location is a further walk from the lagoon then lead to believe. (30 min brisk walk)
