Staff was excellent. Breakfast delivered to the room was a bonus. The room was sizable. My only downside is that we could hear people sneeze in the room beside us and people walking across the floor above.
Beautiful hotel in the center of Caen. Walkable from train station but also walkable to old part of town. Friendly and accommodating staff. Great place to stay!
The owner of the hotel was extremely nice and courteous.
The room was quiet and clean! The location was also perfect!
Every morning he brought us breakfast to our room and it was the best way to start the day!
We looked forward to seeing him every morning and our breakfast.
We can’t thank him enough for everything!
We would absolutely stay here again!
Thank you!
This property was in a great location, walkable to many sites and shopping. It was also nice and quiet, although we found the bed to be uncomfortably hard.
My wife and I stayed one night at the hotel and found the staff friendly. The hotel is in a great location within walking distance from the train station, restaurants and attractions. The room was nice and quiet and the fan was provided kept the room cool as they don’t have A/C. My only complaint was that I didn’t find the mattress comfortable and extra pillows would have been nice.

Disliked: Room comfort
Hotel rooms were clean and nice. Staff was very helpful. Wi-Fi was very weak, unless we stood in the hallway. And there was no air conditioning, or elevators, Taking our luggage and bringing it down, they were very helpful. I got you an extra pillow.

Liked: Staff & service
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean. But very hot without the windows open and it was too noisy at night to have them open. Bistro across the street was open almost all night and very loud.
We had a wonderful time staying at Hotel Astrid.
We stayed in a double superior room and we liked the added room for two people. Easy walking distance to at least 10 high quality restaurants. Owner is always there and very involved with making sure we were taken care of. It was a wonderful experience both at hotel and the beautiful city of Caen.
We didn't spend much time in the hotel however, it was clean our room was spacious. Staff we friendly and helpful. Location was perfect, tons of dinning options close by. The Irish pud not far has live music and great pints!
Great stay - Nice hotel close to/in the center. Close to the river. Perfect placement.
Really nice staff - great welcome, lots of information about the city - very welcoming.
Amazing hotel. Very central. Host was amazing. Breakfast was lovely with quality products. Could not fault. Would 100percemt recommend

Good:
Close to city centre, bus stops. Very willing friendly reception. Quiet room and very clean .
Not so good :
Bathroom small with shower curtains which meant water everywhere. Toiletries very basic.
Room : lacking of coffee/tea facilities in room
Overall : Adequate for one night or 2 stay.
Pricey for basic accommodation .
Hotel location is perfect. The room is well designed. Having to have breakfast in the room was fine in fact.
The "Hotels.com" description gave the impression the hotel has a car park. It doesn't and we did find parking a problem as well as car security.
Host recommended restaurants for dining and gave advice on parking.
Wifi unreliable. (2nd floor)
Convenient location.

Property was in a really good area so is perfect for anyone keen to be right in the heart of Caen. Super close to the bars and restaurants and like a 10 minute walk from historical sites.
Biggest concerns with the hotel were the cleanliness of rooms. Found a used empty water bottle underneath my bed - from a previous guest, dust along sides of the room and on radiator pipe.
Also lack of service is noticeable. When you check in or out you have to use a telephone to contact someone then grab a key yourself.
Tried ringing the phone a couple times when checking out but didn't get through then got shouted at through the webcam.....
From the welcome at reception when I arrived until I left I felt like a valued guest. With no breakfast room all breakfasts are hand delivered to the room and contained so much food I was unable to finish what was on offer.
Position of the hotel is great. Although quite a long walk from the station, for those less inclined to stretch their legs there are two tram lines T1 and T3 which will take you from the station to the end of the street the Astrid is on.
There are plenty of dining options in either direction when you leave the hotel and just a short stroll to all the shops and tourist destinations.
