Nice place to stay for a few days! Close to the lake, plenty of kitchen utensils/cookware/dishes, clean. The only downfall was, the beds had fleece blankets instead of comforters. Overall I would recommend staying here!
Great cabin but not very close to fishing spots for someone not familiar to the area. Found a fishing guide for 2 15yr olds so everything turned out good.
Great place to stay and beautiful location. Home was very nice and provides everything you would need. Enjoyed riding around the neighborhood on UTV for the beautiful views. Also nice to have corn hole game to play. Only problem was a little difficult to get in the driveway with a long trailer. Would definitely recommend to stay here.
We enjoyed our stay in this very clean and up-to-date cottage!! The outside porch was not very clean but liked having the gate so our small dog could enjoy it with us while we had our morning coffee!! Found it extremely difficult to get our pontoon in to unload!! Gates are not wide enough to manage getting boats in and out easily!

Great Little Hideaway
We really enjoyed the cabin. It was well furnished with everything you need for a nice vacation. We had fun playing cornhole with our friends after a day on DHL. We have a 21 foot boat and had no issues getting in and out of the driveway. However, some vehicles drive fast on the road out front. There’s a hill on the road so be cautious pulling out. The road to the Cove Creek ramp is pretty much one lane so the next day we decided to use the Sunset Marina ramp.
The only issue we had with the cabin was there were no top sheets on any of the beds. We found some in the closet wadded up in a bag so we were not sure if they were clean. Also, the Roku remote in the living room did not have any batteries but I found that the remote in the bedroom would operate the TV in the family room.
The yard was overgrown and could have used some maintenance.
All and all is was a great place and we plan on staying here again.
The house was nice, the kitchen had most everything we needed. Outdoor lighting was really good, it was easy to pack in the dark. The beds were comfortable. However, there was evidence of mice in the oven and lower cabinets, and the gas fireplace did not seem to work. There were also some towels that had been left in the washer, so it was pretty smelly. I emailed the manager about the mouse problem but had not yet received a response upon checkout. Overall it was a comfortable place, except for the mice.
Very nice property that supplied everything needed for comfortable stay. Especially enjoyed the front porch and grill on the deck. A little difficult to pull boat trailer into driveway, but we figured it out...we drove around the block and entered from the opposite direction.
We all had a very enjoyable time. The property is clean and well kept. Could use some night lights and dry fire wood. The 2 full beds listed are actually 2 twin beds. Overall we were very pleased and hope to be back!!!
Great little cabin. Close to Dale Hollow lake. Parking is tight but doable for a boat. Did have a few issues with mouse dropping in drawers, storage area of stove, washing machine smelled horrible. Fix those issues and its golden. I would return

Not what I was expecting
I was disappointed. The two outdoor doorknob(s) were loose, if the deadbolt wasn't in place the side door could be easily pushed open. There were light bulbs that didn't work, overall poorly lit. The bathrooms had conditioner and no shampoo and one of the 2 didn't have hand soap. What was provided was a empty bottle. The exterior landscape needs some TLC, the yard wasn't mowed some of the greenery is partially dead and needs a trim. The seating on the porch was aged, dusty, and had spiderwebs. The photo provided must be from when the home was newer.
House is on a narrow ditch lined road, with splitrail fence acriss entire front yard, with very narrow gates limiting access to the parking area. We couldn't get our pontoon thru the gates and needed to take it to the marina a day early, and had to pay an extra night to store the boat there till we could get it launched the next day. andparkin a reserved slip.
The cabin was clean, very well furnished and convenient to the lake. We had an issue with the wood pellet grill, but Hannah promptly had it taken care of. The owner hadn’t installed the gas grill yet…
The only drawback is access and parking. The property is in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It’s located as soon as you go over a little hill. So your turning in on a blind hill. Not a big deal if everyone obeys 25mph speed limit…which most folks did but several did not. The fence/gate setup makes the driveway access really narrow and there’s not much room on the street to swing wide. We had a hard time getting in and out with just our full size truck.
Our first night of parking was really interesting (we had a slip rented at Sunset the remaining nights). We had our 22’ boat with us because the property had “boat parking” in the description. We barely got backed in the second entrance off the street with 4 spotters. We flagged down one of the neighbors on their side x side and they told us we could go out and around the loop the next morning since there was no way we were getting the truck and boat going the other direction.
The cleaning ladies told us that the current owners had just bought the property virtually and had only just recently been there.
I would suggest to the owners to remove the gates and angled sections of the fencing to utilize the full width of the driveways. It would also help to extend the driveway/culvert up the hill on the first entrance. This would really help with getting in and out and make it boat parking friendly since Sunset rarely has temporary docking and they no longer allow you to drop your trailer at the top of the hill.

Property I.D. #470421 Country Cottage
We arrived on 9/22/22 and left 8:40 A.M. this morning 9/25. The first representation of this property is the front door. This front door is dirty, scuffed up and in need of cleaning or paint, that's strike one. I get the key and open the door, and immediately smell an odor, not a pleasant one, smells like wet dog to me, strike two. Next I move to the refrigerator to put my food in, and the fridge is dirty, not just a little dirty, when was the last time time this fridge was washed out? strike three, and also the kitchen trash can black liner stinks, I wiped it out but it needs a good scrubbing with bleach, and also the cabinet above the microwave left side door is very loose. I then go to the living room, lift up the cushions on the couch and chair, and see what you find, dirt, hair and nuts, and couch smells, strike four. Bathrooms are okay. We gave our son the master bedroom, no mattress pad cover on queen bed, so we took the bedroom with the twin beds. The carpet in that room is filthy, spots and stains all over. I would not walk barefoot on that carpet at all. The owner would be wise to remove carpets in both bedrooms, and put in vinyl floor, strike five. Security camera's are not for the renters safety, it for the owner to watch & listen to everything you say and do. They see everyone that comes and goes. I really don't like being watched and listened to the entire time I am outside. The owner is probably well aware of my complaints, because I shoot straight and don't pull any punches, so they heard everything I said. I'll give credit where credit is due. The cottage is in a great location, peaceful, quiet, comfortable beds, and I very much enjoyed sitting on the front porch. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed and stocked well. I read the other reviews, and they talked about how clean it was, well I guess their clean and my clean is entirely two different things. I'm very picky when it comes to being clean, and this cottage needs a good cleaning, and I'm not talking about just hitting the high spots. It is a very pretty place, I'm sorry I couldn't give you a better rating. I was hoping that we could find a good place to stay, because we come down there quite often. I was raised down there, so I know the country, and we're coming back end of next month for a work day at our family cemetery, but will look elsewhere.

A vacationing dream
We were both so impressed with how beautiful the home, yard and surrounding area is. Very nice house, fully equipped and decorated nicely. The owners were responsive. The property was very clean and neat. We wish we had stayed much longer. Everything was perfect for us and the dogs.
Perfect! The house was the perfect size for the two of us and our two dogs. Thank goodness for folks who allow pets (2). So close to the lake too. Just a five minute drive to Cove Creek Rec area with free easy launch. The house has EVERYTHING you need for a comfortable stay. Kitchen fully equipped, house is clean, quiet location, and THE BEST SHOWER. : ) Highly recommend this.
**There is plenty of room for Pick up truck and 18' boat** We finally figured out how best to park after a few attempts. Would definitely stay here again.
