When is the best time to go to Old First Ward?

The best time to visit Old First Ward is during the spring (late April to early June) and autumn (September to October) months. These seasons offer pleasant weather with comfortable temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the area's outdoor attractions and walking through the historic streets without the extreme heat of summer or the chill of winter. The spring brings blooming flowers and a fresh feel, while autumn is known for its beautiful foliage, adding to the district's visual appeal. Couples often find these times particularly romantic for strolls along the waterfront or enjoying outdoor dining. The milder temperatures are superb for visiting local breweries or the nearby Canalside district, which hosts various events during these shoulder seasons. Solo travellers will also appreciate the comfortable conditions for independent exploration of the neighbourhood's art installations, architecture, and local eateries.

Buffalo Airport Hotel

8/10 Good

"Staff was friendly and helpful! We enjoyed Wingnutz restaurant/sports bar connected to the hotel. The option of airport shuttle is fantastic!"

Holiday Inn Express Grand Island - Niagara Falls by IHG

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. Their hospitality truly made our experience even more enjoyable. The breakfast was outstanding, with such a great variety of selections to choose from. There was something for everyone, and everything we tried was delicious. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again. We truly appreciated the excellent service, welcoming staff, and wonderful breakfast. We’re already looking forward to returning."

Sheraton Niagara Falls

8/10 Good

"The hotel is well-located, just a few minutes' walk from Niagara Falls. My room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. However, I had a few issues with housekeeping, as they always showed up late. The biggest disappointment was the lack of a kitchen, restaurant, or breakfast service. Additionally, the hallways were a bit dirty and outdated, and the surrounding area generally didn't feel very safe. Based on my past experiences with Sheraton hotels, I was expecting much more."
