The facility was centrally located with easy walks to the sites and restaurants. Shopping was likewise close and offered fresh baked goods to a useful supermarket. If clothes shopping is your thing there was an overwhelming amount of choices.

Great hotel, location was amazing for Christmas market. Staff were very friendly and helpful and rooms were modern and clean.
Absolutely stunning hotel in the centre of it all…very clean and wonderful staff. I would absolutely stay here again and I highly recommend it for everyone else.
Location was very good and rooms were clean, although more attention to details is needed. I booked well in advance when they were not contactless, the switch over to no reception was problematic; I chose this hotel because it originally offered luggage storage now that was unavailable. I messaged them and was told I could have early check in, shortly before arrival I was told this was dependent on cleaning. I did get early check in eventually. Also, the rooms were paid for in full. When I arrived I received a message saying they were not, so I had search and provide them with proof from receipts, bank account, etc. I found this frustrating. They did respond promptly to messages. Door/room entry info was provided that was confusing—would be simpler to understand if they provided 2 lines of code, 1 for the door, 1 for the room. We are experienced travelers and this was the 7th hotel we stayed at this trip with no issues until Hotel Marcel.
The loft space at Hotel Marcel was perfect for a weekend visit to Bruges. It offered 2 bedrooms, ample space, a little kitchenette, and was very clean. The location was perfect—close to the centre but also quiet at night.
We enjoyed our stay. Since we had a late arrival due to late train ride, they were very accommodating for our check-in despite front desk being closed.
Clean and simple hotel, we stayed one night, all staff were lovely, room was basic but with everything we needed. No noise from other rooms and on a quiet street with cheap parking just down the road by the library.
Room and beds were great, water pressure and temperature while showering was somewhat inconsistent, but likely due to timing in the morning.
Noise insulation was not great, we could hear lots of noise from the streets outside and the guests above us apparently were completely rearranging their furniture for an hour or so which was very loud in our room.
We stayed April 2026. The property changed hands March 2026, so any review written prior to April 2026 is *before* the ownership change. Property appears to have just 4 or so rooms; we were room 3 (family suite) and there was only 1 room per floor. Location was AMAZING. Quick walk to many restaurants and the bus to the train station.
Family suite had 1 king + 1 king Murphy bed. Great shower. Bring your own shampoo; liquid soap in shower same as the sink soap. Main BR quiet at night. Front room noisy through the night from people on the street (somewhat expected). King beds only had 2 european square pillows each. There were other pillows available, but they didn't have any pillowcases (yuck).
There were no "hotel" amenities. The hotel seemed like a shell of its former self. Cafe: closed. Well-regarded laundromat: closed. No staff; you are sent a code to unlock the main door and your room door. We had challenges getting our code; involved Expedia for assistance. There is a phone number provided "for emergencies only" (stated to include issues entering the property) but no one answers the phone. Expedia tried calling twice with no answer. I tried calling when the code initially didn't work; all I got was a non-English recording.
If you are comfortable being fully on your own, this is a great place to stay. But if you are looking for a place with a way to interact timely with people, stay elsewhere. It would have been great to get a local's suggestions for meals.
The room was tiny and the bathroom that had been added came out into the room with a single pane of glass separating the toilet from the bed. The bed was very uncomfortable. The location was great.

Brugge Hotel
Hotel is in an amazing area! So close to everything.Safe and beautiful block.
Beds are comfy
No persons at front desk after 6:00 pm
Rooms are small, but we never care because we are never in our room except to sleep.
Cleaning lady knocked on our door at 9:30 am to clean room which is fine but there was so much dust balls under our bed that it came out from under our bed.
Maybe they should try dusting the rooms better especially under the bed.
Hotel is a no frills hotel.Area of hotel perfection.
