We stayed at Hotel Lodewijk Van Male during our visit to Bruges for the Christmas markets, and it was a wonderful base for the trip. The hotel is set in a beautiful, peaceful location just outside the city centre, offering a welcome sense of calm after busy days exploring the markets and historic streets. The building itself is full of character, with a warm and traditional feel throughout. Our room was comfortable, clean, and well presented, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The grounds are particularly lovely and added to the charm of the experience, especially during the winter season. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was a real highlight, with a generous selection of fresh and tasty options to set us up well for the day ahead. Overall, this is a charming and comfortable hotel that offers a peaceful retreat while still being well connected to Bruges. We would happily stay again and would strongly recommend it to anyone visiting the city, particularly during the Christmas markets.

Gorgeous hotel on beautiful grounds. Very loud music until very early hours so didn’t sleep well. Staff were nice and breakfast was good.

Very comfortable, clean room. Excellent view. All very positive. If I had to make a criticism it would be the lack of coffee making facilities in the room.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely location on the outskirts of Bruges. Easy parking available. Rooms spacious with excellent shower. Lovely rear views over the garden. Great breakfast choices in a splendid restaurant. Staff friendly and welcoming. One minor gripe - no tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom. Will definitely stay again when next in Bruges.

We had a great overnight stop here. The hotel is located a short drive into the centre. We were disappointed not to be able to have lunch or evening meal at the hotel, particularly as food was being prepared for a small private party. After a very long drive, a light snack and a chance to rest would have been very welcome. There are no restaurants close by so we were directed to the centre of Brugge for food. My advice would be to make sure you do not arrive at the hotel tired and hungry! Other than that. This was a very pleasant stay.

Unfortunately, they had an event in their ballroom, I was told 150 people. Hence it was very noisy, and it would have been better if we had been told before so we could get ear defenders! It was too late to ask for a different room. Our room overlooked the road at the front of the hotel. It is in a good location for a meeting I attend twice a year, and I will try for a better room next time.

It was a really nice experience for the price. The grounds are beautiful and there is a lovely pond in the back. The rooms were a bit run down but the beds were fine. The bathrooms were also surprisingly clean. Breakfast was simple but tasty, especially considering it was included.

Not what we were expecting, very dated, room in desperate need of an upgrade the amount of spillages on the 30+ year old carpet was disgusting. The room was a non smoking room which stunk of smoke. We didnt even stay for the Breakfast that we paid for. We were told No breakfast till 8am. It also had the most unsecure doors ive ever seen and the bathroom door didnt shut .cant believe the great scores advertised.
