"Midmod on 6th was a perfect overnight stop on our trek from Detroit to Denver. The space was so charming and no detail was overlooked. Our family of four and pup had a lovely time. Thank you!"

"The hotel, including the room decor, was very nice and had a unique old-country feel to it. Check-in was a little odd, as we checked in at the bar while ordering dinner. The food was fine. By about 9:30 p.m., the staff was gone, so it felt like you were on your own for the rest of the evening. Unfortunately, the A/C in our room would turn on but wouldn’t actually blow any air, which made for a very uncomfortable night. On the positive side, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. One other thing that surprised me was the 10:00 a.m. checkout time. In my experience, 11:00 a.m. to noon is much more common, so 10:00 a.m. felt unusually early. Overall, the hotel had a lot of charm and character, but there were a few things that could definitely be improved."
Stay in historic downtown Hays in upscale accommodations

"James is a great host and we really enjoyed our first visit at his loft property in Hays. The interior improvements and amenities are well done and we felt right at home. We found it clean, comfortable and the walk-in shower is excellent. The dedicated parking space on the adjacent concrete driveway in back is a real plus. The property location is also close to a convenience store at the end of the alley and is within easy walking distance from old town Hays, where many shops and restaurants are located. We plan to return and are looking forward to our next stay at the Chestnut Loft."

"This house was a true gem. Everything about it from the communication with the host to the decor (historical and authentic) was outstanding. It was such a comfortable stay for us on our way to CO; wish we would have been able to enjoy it longer. Honestly, everything about our stay was perfect!"
