"Nice and warm in the rooms in the winter….very good heating so it was nice and cozy. Also appreciated the extra blankets. Towels could be thicker and more absorbent but the shower itself was nice. Great location! We enjoyed walking into town."

"Loved it our only thing knocking it back from 5 stars overall was the fire didn’t seem to warm the loungeroom up enough for us. Keep in mind you need to replenish the wood by chopping it yourself which was fine for us but may be an issue for even older people."

"Loved the house and overall feel and location. It was a nice touch with nice bottle of red wine on arrival, some ground coffee, firewood etc. My only gripe are the beds are too hard and the sheets were too crispy and rough.Would definitely stay again, overall was a really enjoyable stay. "John’s place was the perfect stay for my partner and me. The location was ideal, just a short drive into town. One day we explored the northern part of the area, and the next we headed south, making it a great base for sightseeing.The room was spotless, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Although the main house was nearby, we still had plenty of privacy and were able to enjoy our time uninterrupted."
