"This is my second time staying at this hotel. I liked the room I stayed in better the first time, but I was still happy with the old world charm of this property. The breakfast is great and the staff are super friendly. My only complaint was my room was close to where bottles were being dumped into the bin, not a huge deal expect there were some nights that they would be dumping bottles multiple times well passed midnight which would wake me up with the loud crashing. "

"I have stayed here a few times over the years and have always been happy with this hotel. The beds were comfortable, and the toilet and shower were clean, with plenty of hot water. The room I stayed in, (5), was above the main gate which meant it could be a bit noisy early in the morning, but not too serious. Staying above a bar, can be a bit noisy, but that is only to be expected. The room was very warm, I had to turn the radiator down, not a bad thing. The hotel is situated five minutes walk...

"We loved the hotel our room was excellent, we thought the traffic noise would be loud overnight but it didn’t keep us awake . The bed was wonderfully comfortable. I loved that there were electric sockets right by the bed so I could plug in my phone.Our breakfast in the morning was wonderful and extra water for tea and coffee for my husband were no problem ."

"Well what a surprise we hadn’t expected much as we paid a very reasonable price. Arrived and was shown up to our room, very friendly service. We stayed in the cappuccino room. The room was lovely, great size & really light and airy. Lots of little touches like kits with things you might need, plenty of shower wash, shampoo etc. tea, coffee & sugar well Stocked as well as little biscuits & bottles of water. "This was an older building, so it had a few areas that didn’t work well. (Room size, the loo, noisy hallway) The staff is excellent, eager to help and quickly answered any questions we had. The food in the pub was very nice and the service was great. "

"Received a warm welcome from the owners and staff at The River Don Tavern. Had a lovely meal, well cook with generous portions. Good size room with large bed, plenty of tea, coffee, chocolate and biscuits. Good breakfast supplied. Shower a bit dated, but clean with plenty of hot water. Spacious car park. Quiet farming village with safe walks for our dog. Enjoyed our stay. "
