About this property
Mama Bear- Broken Bow/Hochatown- 1bd
Mama Bear cabin is part of the Bearwoods cabin group. Sitting on 12 acres bordering the national forest, these three 1 bedroom cabins enjoy peaceful surroundings while still only being minutes from the Park and Lake. The cabins can be rented individually or as a group. Papa Bear and Mama Bear are joined by a shared utility room which remains locked when rented individually or can be left unlocked if rented together.
Mama Bear is great for couples and small families on the go who are looking for adventure. Of course, we aren’t opposed to a little romance and spending a few days locked away from the world, But Mama Bear calls to those ready to get out and enjoy the sights, sounds, and tastes of Hochatown. Located just minutes from ATV roads, boat ramps, an 18 hole golf course, hiking trails, and so much more. The simple kitchenette makes it easy to whip up a quick breakfast and pack up a picnic basket before heading out. However, we know that even the hardiest adventurers like a few comforts when they get back. The large bathroom makes it easy to clean up after the fun and excitement whether you are headed out to eat or headed to the couch. Backed up to the forest, the large deck with a private hot tub & a charcoal grill make this a fantastic place to waste a few hours or a even a few days. When you are finally ready to call it a night, you can climb into a comfortable king size bed. If you brought the kiddos along – Mama Bear has a couple of twin beds ready for them as well.
Thinking about going out on the lake or taking ATVs out to explore? A large level circle drive makes Mama Bear a great cabin to pull a boat or trailer through.

Cozy, clean, and accommodating! My friend and I have been best friends since kindergarten. We’re adults now and both have very busy, demanding lives. We planned this last minute and now look forward to making this an annual thing. We love antique shopping, while doing so we stumbled across a crawfish boil going on downtown. It was a blast! Such an inviting/fun town! Loved our cozy stay at Mama Bear! Can’t wait to go back next year.
Quaint cabin with the bare necessities, comfortable sleeping situation and nice sized bathroom. The kitchen offers required essentials for a quick weekend trip. Close enough to the variety of concessions that Hochatown offers but removed enough to feel simi-secluded. We weren’t there to watch TV, but the viewing situation is subpar. The TV is tiny and mounted at an awkward level/angle for the seating situation. This was a fun trip and I would stay here again.
Super relaxing. The hot tub was the star of the show. It was great. Cabin was very clean.
Only cons were the way the tv is mounted. You can’t watch it from sitting down. The fridge handle was broke. The cabin is part of a duplex and our neighbors were very loud and extra friendly for us wanting to be alone.
Mama Bear cabin was a nice little cabin for us. Very clean on the inside. The hot tub was a nice extra that we also enjoyed. My only suggestion would be to update the pictures because we were expecting two twin beds in the living room and there wasn’t. They do have two nice new couches and one does pull out to make a bed. We made it work but the pictures just need updated. There also was not a propane grill. Our stay was nice and we would come back.
The cabin needs some TLC…broken front window, broken door to the fridge, broken panels on the deck. However….overall it was a beautiful area & the cabin was clean & a quaint place to stay!
Cabin is in a great spot and easy to find. We had no issues during the stay. Only feedback we have is similar to others in that a different tv/mount location is ideal. You can’t see it very well and it’s awkwardly small. Maybe some seasonings or cooking basics too would be nice. Aside from that we loved the cabin.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
Property was quiet, clean and easy to access and relaxing. The hot tub was refreshing and the ceiling fan over it was fantastic for cool air movement while enjoying it. Love the saltillio floors as they were cool on the feet. The AC worked very well and held the temperature where set.
LOL- might include directions for the tv remote operation. I am not very electronic minded and was never able to get full operation.
Overall for a few days get-a-way it was very refreshing and we would consider another trip.
Couple of notes: Elec skillet is missing the control, hot plate worked well but one foot is missing and needs to be stabilized. The sink faucet leaks at the base-maintenance should look at it. The bbq worked well but is about time to replace as there are some holes near the bottom where hot coals could escape. The deck is nice but there are a couple of boards that will need replacing soon and a few nails have worked up and could injure small bare feet.
None of these comments is to distract from the property but rather information to the owners/caretakers.
We loved that we could pull the blinds up and watch the sunrise through the trees. It was a small cabin but very comfortable and clean. Enjoyed the hot tub. JS
This cabin is a great place to stay but comes with a few issues. We booked this specific cabin (there is no shortage of options in broken bow) entirely because of the hot tub. However when we arrived, the hot tub was broken and un-usable. This was incredibly disappointing as it was not stated anywhere before we arrived. When I called the property manager they offered a discount which was nice but doesn’t make up for the disappointment.
Also the cabin does not come with many standard essentials you would expect. No salt/pepper or cooking spray or olive oil for pans and stove. Despite having a charcoal grill and a fire pit there was no lighter we could find. I went to the store and bought one that I left at the cabin so hopefully if you decide to stay here there will now be one waiting for you.
Overall I would recommend this cabin because the location was great and broken bow is a great place. Just be sure to call and find out if the hot tub is working!
They stay was great. It was everything we hoped it would be. Only problems was the hot tub is not very comfortable to sit in and they need to upgrade to a larger better TV. The cabin itself was great really enjoyed the stay.
