Cozy, open concept loft in Historic Downtown Bristol VA/TN. Yep, 2 States-one state of mind! We are located in a Border Town -VA/TN and this loft over looks the Public Library and Blackbird Bakery. Come rest, relax & renew, then discover our great Downtown. Our loft is smartly appointed, just bring a change of clothes and explore our Twin Cites! Downtown Bristol is a vibrant place with lots of local restaurants, craft breweries, coffee shops, music venues & shopping. Come let us pamper you!

Private entrance. Loft entrance is in the rear of the property. We have a dedicated parking lot and loft entrance is up the back wooden steps.

Our loft is located on the 2nd floor. Only 26 steps up to the Live Like Local Loft!


During the warmer weather there are several live music events, so there is a potential for noise. However, there is a city ordinance that all music must end at 11 pm.


This building is over 100 years old and we have beautifully restored it. You will find lots of charm with a modern flair! We have preserved the original brick walls in the loft. We have very high cleaning standards, but you may find the naturally occurring brick dust occasionally. In the loft you will find exposed beams in the ceiling and lots of character throughout the loft.

Home away from home!

I traveled back to Bristol to be with family for a few days.Staying at the loft in downtown Bristol, reliving all those memories, was magical!This place is beautiful, clean, and a perfect getaway. Even being in the heart of downtown, the loft was quiet, cozy, and had all the amenities…plus some!I highly recommend this stay for a couple, a person on business, or just a wonderful place to getaway for a few days!Thank you to Karen and her team for making my trip great!

Great stay!

Clean and convenient for our trip to visit family. Kitchen had necessary cookware I needed to cook meals and some nice additions such as spice, bottled water and a coffee bar. Very beautiful place, just as pictured.

Best rental ever!!

My childhood bestie (of over 50 yrs) & I met up half way to stay at this incredible loft. It far exceeded any expectations with of us had! Cleaner, more charming & cozy, and more fully stocked than any rental I’ve ever stayed in.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & the living like a local experience!We couldn’t recommend more highly! What a GREAT place!

The Live Like a Local Loft was a wonderful stay. The hosts thought of everything you might need to make this feel like a home away from home! Super clean, comfortable bed, luxury linens, games, DVD’s, CD’S, well-appointed kitchen, toiletries, and on an on! The other great thing about this property is its location in the heart of downtown Bristol with great shops and restaurants just a few steps away! We will definitely return! I loved this property so much that I have shared the link to with multiple friends/ family!

Fantastic!!

I felt like home the second I walked in the door. The condo was well-equipped. Everything I needed and more was there! The host was an absolute gem - I felt like I had so many questions and she was always so quick to respond. There was a handwritten welcome note on the counter… extra toiletries for anything forgotten… even umbrellas in case of rain (which we did need!). Everything was just so well thought out. The location was amazing. Just a quick walk around the building and you’re right there on Main Street with so many shops, bars, restaurants and things to do. We walked everywhere and loved every minute of it! We can’t wait to stay again.Thank you!!

Love this downtown Bristol property

I have stayed at Live like a local Loft three times now. I stayed in a different unit each time. The units are beautifully appointed, immaculately clean, and provide the guest with everything they need in the kitchen and bath. You feel as if you are in your own home. Karen Hester is very responsive to all messages and is ready to make your stay as pleasant as all three of my stays have been. I will stay here every time I visit Bristol in the future.

Couple’s getaway

The loft was the perfect place for our kid free get away! Location is perfect to all the restaurants and shopping. We only used our car twice during our whole stay, to go to the speedway and to a winery. The loft had everything we needed and more! We literally only needed clothes, toiletries and kitchen, we nicely stocked. We highly recommend staying with Karen.

THE place to stay in Bristol

Great place to stay. Everything you need is in this loft. It is cute, comfortable and truly has everything. Bed was comfy. Kitchen had every appliance. The place was clean. Home away from home but nicer :)

This rental had everything we wanted & more. The owners gave so much attention to detail that there wasn’t anything that I reached for that wasn’t there. The location couldn’t be better for a stay in downtown Bristol, allowing you to walk to tons of restaurants & small business shopping. An example of attention to detail: sound machine & earplugs for sleeping, a ceiling fan but also a box fan available for comfort. It possibly has the best stocked kitchen of any rental I’ve stayed in, the furniture is all in great shape & comfortable & the decor is very tastefully done, as well. We would, & already have, recommend this to anyone.

Bristol Hidden Gem

If you appreciate art, history, and quaint environs, I highly recommend this beautiful loft. You can sense the pride both TN and VA have in protecting the integrity of State St. shared by both states. The shops, the fooderies, the historical buildings are such a fun experience. Our loft was precious! We felt at home and loved the surroundings of vintage and modern collectibles decorating the place. The bed was super comfortable, the kitchen well stocked, and the modern conveniences well maintained. We highly recommend.

Coolest stay in Bristol

This place is amazing! They thought through every detail. It was comfortable, spacious, trendy - a great place to hang out day or night. The kitchen was fully equipped. Being right on State Street, we parked once and never had to drive again during our stay - in easy walking distance to restaurants, dessert, and shops. I posted a question on the app after we arrived, and she responded immediately. We hope to return and stay even longer next time. Thank you for being such a wonderful hostess!
