"Coming to Shipshewanna, we booked a room at Essenhaus Inn because our usual hotel was totally booked. I cannot begin to say how much we enjoyed our stay in the atrium! From the friendliness to the cleanliness...from the free brunch to the free "afternoon" cookies...we were really impressed. Next trip to Shipshewanna will find us staying at the Essenhaus Inn again!"

"Hotel was undergoing renovation during my stay. So I can't say much about the amenities as they were out of service or temporarily set up in a makeshift setting. "Bar" was a folding table in the lobby area. Parking was a mess. If it weren't for the renovation, it would have been a great place to stay. Staff was super friendly and room was clean and comfortable."

"I gave an overall 4 stars due to the kindness of the staff. Unfortunately, this property is in serious need of maintenance and overall attention. The room had a lot of stains on the curtains, along with tears and there were holes in the ac/unit-could see outside through it. The shower door is not ideal as it was designed to not close, and there are other areas in clear disrepair. The TV was also hard to work, we never ended up using it. You have to cast from your phone. We followed all of the steps many times and finally just gave up using it. The hallways/elevator are very dark, dingy smokey, and full of carpet stains. There are even spots where you walk on the hallway carpet and your foot goes down into a bit of a depression (floor 2)…maybe from a previous leak. Again, great customer service, not what I was expecting for cleanliness though. This hotel is truly in need of care and fixing up!"
