Welcome to The Lookout Unit 2, a private holiday retreat offering comfort, privacy, and some of the best views in Point Lookout. This is a dedicated holiday rental (not a principal residence) with no shared rooms, plus NBN and WiFi included.

The north-facing units overlook a large pool and entertainment area and boast spectacular ocean views. From June to November, you may even spot Humpback Whales migrating right from your deck.

This two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit is set over two levels with decks on both floors, featuring vergola roofs that can be opened or closed depending on the weather. Inside, enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living spaces, TV/DVD, ceiling fans throughout, and an internal laundry with washer and dryer. A BBQ on the deck and undercover parking add extra convenience.
Guests also have access to the communal swimming pool and timber entertainment area, making this the perfect base for a relaxed island getaway.

NBN and WIFI included.
Linen is supplied and beds made on arrival.

Great view

We have stayed in this complex before, and found the second time was just as good. Great view, large unit will very well equipped kitchen. Only downfall was no hairdryer in either bathroom.

View to die for

The view is amazing. We saw so many whales breaching which was a experience in itself. The only small downside is that it is a distance from the beach but it is a very small price to pay for excellent views .

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Lookout unit 2 presented as very clean and well appointed. The view from the deck was amazing and we spotted whales frequently. A car is necessary to access the beach and shops, Gorge walk etc as the unit is high on a steep hill but then you get the views as a bonus. We enjoyed the Gorge walk and Cylinder beach. Special mention to the Gelato bar opposite The Gorge Walk Point Lookout, the Barn Cafe and CJs coffee at Dunwich and Dunwich Golf club for lunch. It would be helpful for the technologically challenged like us to have instructions for operating the TV and the lounge is better for reclining than sitting but this is a minor matter. We highly recommend this unit.

In addition the buildings were being painted which limited access to the pool we were not informed that work was going to be carried out during our stay when we booked

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a delightful property with an outlook from the balcony that is quite amazing. To be able to watch whales passing on their way south to Antarctica with their calves gave it a unique feel. First impressions are important and alongside the good there were shortcomings. Curtains did not fit and had been poorly hung in the bedrooms. Downlighters in the living area needed replacing. The cooker hood/fan didn’t work and our cooking activated the smoke alarm. More complete instructions for guests would have helped.

It’s simply the best most magical island and these apartments are just a great addition to your stay on the island. Couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing stay, we come over 2-3 times a year if we can and will always stay at the lookout. If I could give it infinite stars, I would. Great job guys! Lovely Location

The apartment is in a lovely location but it lacks any generosity of hospitality. There were limited towels, no toiletries in the bathrooms, basic bedding, no books or games, no personal touches and the decks were not clean and the furniture on the downstairs deck limited. For its price this rental was definitely not outstanding.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great views, probably the best in Point Lookout. Spacious and comfortable (except for the lounge seats). Well equipped but 3 toilets and not one square of toilet paper on arrival - never experienced that before in a holiday rental in over 50 years. Fortunately we packed plenty of our own. Unless you are super fit a car is needed to get around as it’s a steep walk up the hill.

Also rented last year, but had a small roach problem then.Roach ppo in pantry cupboard and in under sink kitchen cabinet. Horrified cousins this year had roaches in bed and eating the medication on bedside cupboard, in shower and in kitchen cupboards. Not acceptable and should be dealt with ASAP! Would also be nice to include a chux whipe or 2 for washing dishes. Always included in other rentals we have stayed at. Very hesitant to book same apartment or complex next year. I did complain when handing key in.Poor standard for anyone let alone visitors from overseas. Partial Refund or discount for next year would be appreciated if above is rectified. Apartment was ok otherwise. Catherine Burnett|So dissapointed.

Yearly getaway to Straddie

Reviewer Comments: Great location with breathtaking views.Furniture looks tired, only 2 half’s of toilet paper was supplied for the week and no extra bin liners were supplied. We had to purchase these at a high cost down the local. The underneath patio was not clean and extremely filthy with bird poo all over the tiles.
