HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT ACCOMMODATION: Tibbets on Tillot is a historical Queensland Cottage believed to have been built circa 1883. It was first owned by Edward Deighton (a clark in the Colonial Architect's office) and was part of Deighton Estate which was basically the triangle of land that sits between Old Ipswich Road (now Gladstone Road), Boggo Road (now Annerley road) and Gloucester Street. Tillot Street where your accommodation is located was named after Edward's mother (Tillot is her maiden name). Tibbets on Tillot is also named after Sarah Tibbets (a resident from 1925-1933) who demonstrated a sassiness and naughtiness often frowned upon for a woman of that time.
ACCOMMODATION FEATURES: Tibbets on Tillot is a bike friendly, dog-friendly self contained space with a large main bedroom, separate living/dining, bathroom, laundry facilities, full kitchen and patio opening to a lush tree-filled back yard. The yard is fully fenced and secure with a separate entry to the main house.
LOCAL AMENITIES: Within walking distance of Tibbets on Tillot you will find the Mater Hospital, PA Hospital, Southbank, the Gabba, Boggo Road CSIRO Precinct, Brisbane CBD, Brisbane Botanical Gardens, UQ St Lucia Campus, QUT Garden's Point Campus, Brisbane River Walks, parks and bikeways - basically we are very central.
TRANSPORT: We are also close to the bus (we have a stop at the end of the street) and train (almost at the end of our street). We are also within the zone for electric scooters and bikes.
DINING: Local dining precincts include Stanley Street, C'est Bon, Logan Road Antiques Precinct, the Gabba, Southbank, Little Stanley Street, West End, Fish Lane and more.
BREWS: Penny Coffee Co. is at the end of our street and Two Dad's up Annerley Road about 200m. Both will service you with some of the best brews in Brisbane. At the other end of Annerley Road you will find brews of a different kind in the form of the Brisbane Brewhouse where you can taste local craft beer and food for a very fair price and the Red Brick Hotel which has some of the best pub food this side of the river.
PARKING: We have free street parking (with a supplied digital permit). Should you be driving just forward your car registration number.

Your hosts live upstairs and have two little dogs (Jupiter and Lila) who will likely say hello. Please enquire with us if you have a dog you are travelling with, as we are a pet-friendly accommodation.

It was a really easy relaxed stay. Lovely host, lovely place, plenty of room, quiet, awesome outdoor space, private, nice walk into town. Only slight negative was the patchy internet connection which I needed for some work bits and pieces, but a plus if you’re wanting to disconnect and relax. Would definitely stay here again.

A gem in Brisbane
We absolutely love this place and wouldn’t stay anywhere else when coming to Brisbane. Having a true dog friendly option so close to the Brisbane CBD is amazing. The accomodation is clean and well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend.

What a wonderful stay! Excellent location with easy access to transit and walkable to Southbank and the city centre. Letitia and Sam are awesome hosts with extensive knowledge of restaurants near and far as well as just pleasant company if you strike up a chat. The flat is big and well maintained so it was a nice retreat in the evening. I highly recommend!

Great dog friendly location close to city
My husband and I stayed for 3 days while our floors at home were being polished. This turned out to be a great dog friendly location. The well equiped apartment was on the ground floor and opened out to a spacious private covered outdoor area and good size fully fenced backyard. Our host Letitia was friendly and welcoming. Leticia has two small dogs who were happy to say hello to our dog on the few occasions during the day when they came downstairs to the yard. We had a delicious breakfast and coffee one morning at Penny Coffee Co which is just around the corner. I would stay here again.

Owners are delightful and attentive
Owners are extremely welcoming and helpful, respectful and considerate, allowing stayers into their space. Lovely neighbourhood. Accomodation light and airy, private. Access to nice back yard. Trains are audible for light sleepers (my friend didn't notice), a little upstairs foot traffic. South Bank is within walkable distance.

Convenient comfortable one bed unit
Lovely little one bed unit was all we needed for a weekend of events at my sons school. Great host, included a single portable bed for a small additional fee. Easy check in, handy to have washing machine and private with undercover outdoor area to use too. Train line audible at night, but otherwise no issues. Maybe a set of ear plugs for the more sensitive sleeper. Thanks so much - it was a great stay!
