Beautiful place, room comfortable, clean and with a great view. The welcome , the stay and the fresh breakfast was above my expectations . I really enjoy all and will comeback soon.
The Green River Bridge Inn is in a beautiful area of VT. Surrounding the inn is a sprawling yard filled with wildlife and access to the Green River, an old dam built from timber, and the namesake covered bridge. Our initial introductions were nice enough. I wish that same charm would have persisted throughout the stay.
We booked a specific room for our stay, which we presume was occupied when we arrived. Our host David led us upstairs beyond a door marked "private", cracking a joke about it as we passed, and to a room he said belonged to the previous owners. It was "still somewhat behind the scenes" as management had recently changed. We felt like part of the kitchen as it was at the bottom of an echoing, junk filled stairwell right outside our door. Clanging dishes, talking, and pacing outside our door happened until midnight and began again at 6 am without the sound buffers afforded to other guests.
It was like paying to stay in a frat house for the same price as a normal room. B&B's are often rustic but we should have had an employee discount considering the difference in accommodations.
Such a peaceful, beautiful area and inn! The host is wonderful and an amazing cook. The quintessential Vermont inn with an international flair. Can’t wait to go back!

Could be better with effort
We came down to our first bfast and found shards of glass and clods of dirt all over the floor. The glass was mentioned and swept up but dirt was still there on the 3rd day. Scrambled eggs, toast, bacon or sausage every morning. Coffee but no creamer. Not offered juice or anything else. Water pitcher had same water from night before. No written menu or buffet. Hotels.com said no pets allowed. Owners have large dog that barks loudly. Another couple had a dog in their room. I'm allergic so i was not happy. Yard was disheveled with lawn chairs in various places, burn pit was not cleaned and sitting by the river. Wife never came out and introduced herself at any point during the 3 days. We happened to see her through the kitchen window one day..There is a bar and a couple nights that were boisterous and thats probably why the shards of glass were found. Dirty windows on every floor. Place setting plates were dirty as were some utencils. Sliding glass doir in our room didn't latch. Lady bugs were crawling on the ceilings bc it was getting cold and they found windows and doors to get in. Just not worth what we paid. The couple is elderly and perhaps this isnt right for them bc they can't keep the place up.
