"This property was a real unique find and was set in such a tranquil area. Beautiful, large, bedroom and bathroom all well furnished. A bonus was the swimming pool and gardens to relax in. Definitely worth a visit and the owners were charming and welcoming. "

"It was a lovely little gite, in a nice peaceful area, with beautiful scenery. Situated close enough to Chateabriant to be convenient for sightseeing/shopping/meals out, but far enough to be peaceful and relaxing. The host, Melanie, literally could not do enough for us. She was incredibly friendly, informative, gave us good recommendations for places to eat, even did our washing for us! The gite itself was neat, clean and very cool, which was greatly appreciated in the middle of a heatwave. We definitely hope to be back!"

The owner is a character but speaks virtually no English- this isn’t for you if you’re not able to get by in French. The house is unique, and speaks of grandeur in the way that old piles do. It felt like spending the night in a National Trust Manor House before they’ve done it up. If you want a night in deepest Anjou where you’re left to yourself to explore a chateau and can sit drinking wine under a tree with a cat purring on your lap, this is worth a go. If you’ve got young kids, you can’t speak much French or have mobility issues (there’s a spiral staircase), stay somewhere else. "
