Bed and Breakfast in Boulogne-sur-Mer

"A lovely new block of apartments close to the harbour and marina but currently surrounded by building works. When completed the venue will be a great asset to Boulogne Su Mer. Note that property is primarily aimed at senior citizens, very much like a McArthy and Stone complex with a high ratio of residents from this sector. The management has released spare capacity to the wider public and while we were there users included a student and a young business manager. That said, the management appear to be struggling to reconcile the two target audiences and those using the property outside of the senior citizen audience faced a limited choice of breakfast. Overall the site offers great value and facilities but could benefit from some more experience on how to cater for the general public. "

"We had a superb room on the fourth floor - spectacular views and spotlessly clean. It needed a little revamp, though, as there was a hole in a curtain and stains on the carpet, which they had tried to cover with a small mat. There was one mirror, but this was on the back of the door. The bathroom was great, but the towel rail was situated behind and above the toilet and bidet - not the most hygienic position. The breakfast was wonderful and there was an amazing amount on offer, but it was expensive for a person with a small appetite. It’s a delightful place to stay and all the staff seemed friendly, efficient and helpful. "

"On arrival I was greeted by the friendly staff for what appears to be a family run hotel, they could not have been more helpful. The hotel and my room were clean and had everything I needed for my stay. There is a very nice restaurant next door, which offers a discount to the hotel guests. Breakfast in the hotel was in the bar area and allowed me to eat in a relaxed manner too. I definitely will return if I need a hotel in the Calais area again."

"Lovely clean room, very comfortable beds, beautiful bathroom with loads of Dove toiletries. Kettle and fridge. We had a great view of the marina. Will definitely stay again. Staff very friendly and helpful."

"Perfect place to stay after the tunnel from Uk , or ferry. Allowed us to set off early on our holiday. The meal we had was delicious and good value. Would recommend fully."

"It’s a basic property that did exactly what we needed after a 10-hour drive across France. We decided last minute to break up our journey home so booked a triple room about an hour before arriving. It was a 5 minute drive to Le Shuttle, there was a bar, and it is right by all of the food outlets so we could grab a late night bite (the hotel also seemed to have food but we didn’t try this). It’s not somewhere you would stay on a longer term basis but for a place to crash after a long journey and before embarking on the next leg, it was perfect. "
