The best area to stay in Borșa is primarily around the Borșa Complex, particularly for those looking to be close to winter sports and mountain activities.

The Borșa Complex is situated at the base of the Rodna Mountains and is the main hub for tourism in the area. It's known for its ski slopes, including the Borșa V-shaped ski slope, and provides access to the Borșa chairlift. The area is quite spread out along the main road, DN18, with hotels and guesthouses dotted along it. There are also a few local restaurants and shops suiting visitors.

For families, staying near the Borșa Complex is ideal. The proximity to the ski slopes means easy access for children's ski lessons or simply enjoying the snow. During warmer months, the chairlift offers scenic rides and access to hiking trails suitable for various fitness levels, making it simple to enjoy the mountain landscape with children.

Couples looking for an active holiday will also find the Borșa Complex appealing. Beyond skiing, the area offers opportunities for exploring the Rodna Mountains National Park, with trails leading to waterfalls like the Horses' Waterfall (Cascada Cailor), which is accessible via a short hike from the chairlift's upper station.
