"After difficulty finding and getting to the barge. (I’d recommend contacting owners - you often need a code for locked gates to get quai side - they don’t give you this information so you need to request it) we found the setting beautiful. "The website drew me in…a houseboat on the river in Bordeaux. Nowhere did it mention how difficult itmwasmtomget to it, and it was on the ‘wrong ‘ side of the river. Without a car you were stuck there. When we opened the door, we discovered it was not the apartment we booked. First problem. Then, we the night progressed there was outrageous noice coming from the different bars down river, plus live music. This lasted until 4 a.m. we got no sleep at all.
