Mountain Retreat

We were always curious about the layout of the round houses on Sugar Mountain and were surprised as to how well they work for vacation. Views in every direction and large deck make this a relaxing location. Son loved the electric reclining furniture! House has everything we needed for our ski weekend.

Extraordinary

We had a fantastic time playing in the snow with the kids. The view was tranquil from the back deck. Enjoyed watching the snow fall as we sipped on hot chocolate. On the front side of the house is a small hill that we used to go sledding for hours with our children. The house is located close to everything you might want to do or see. We walked to the snow tubing and ice skating place from the house. We look forward to booking again this fall to hike Grandfather mt.

Perfect Location! Great Family Trip!

We recently had the pleasure of renting "The Serenity Home" on Sugar Mountain, for a surprise Christmas gift for our 3 sons, and our experience was nothing short of magical. Location is great, walking distance to Sugar Mountain slopes/tubing/ice skating, short drive to Banner Elk, Boone, Beech Mountain. The owner was attentive and responsive to our needs/questions, ensuring that our stay was hassle-free. The booking process was straightforward, and the check-in/check-out procedures were seamless. From the moment we arrived, throughout our entire stay, everything was perfect. We got to spent a lot of family time together. Our boys have been on many vacations and they've declared this one, "the best one ever." We can't wait to return and create more cherished memories at The Serenity Home in Sugar Mountain.

Owner is friendy and very helpful - we appreciated the timely communication with her. She was responsive to our questions prior to our stay and during it. Very comfortable beds and living room furniture. We especially love the wall of windows, "in the trees". Right on Sugar Mtn, just 2 minutes from the tennis and golf club. Relaxing stay and fully met our expectations. We are looking forward to future stays here.

Great location at Sugar

We were there for a family reunion and this place was great. It was close to everything we needed and the property was as advertised. The host, Linsey, checked on us to make sure we got in ok and that we had everything we needed. Will use again when the reunion is held Sugar Mnt again.

Lovely small home in great location

The house is lovely, with high ceilings in all but 1 bedroom, lots of windows and light, and the conveniences of air conditioning, washer/dryer, and fabulous location less than 1 mile from golf, skiing, restaurants and supermarkets. The deck has a large round table and is nestled among trees 20 feet away so the sun shines through. Both bathrooms are tiny but adequate. Would visit again.

Very nice home in Sugar Mountain

The property was much nicer than the photos. Very convenient location with a lovely deck and great common area. A couple of couple of improvements: A visible outdoor address sign Non slip strips or grab bar in the tubs Primary bedroom mattress sags to the middle This is the first Sugar Mtn property to which we would return.

Best weekend

We had the greatest time this weekend! Everything was so close by. The cabin is a circle one, we've never been in one before so it was really cool to stay in. Everything you could possibly need was included. It was super comfy and fun. We spent every evening and morning sitting on the deck out back. We will definitely be back

I had a good experience, despite the house being old, everything works well, close to tourist attractions, excellent restaurants, markets and you can find many nice things to do. we all enjoyed our experience. The only thing I didn't approve of and didn't like was the cleanliness of the house, which left something to be desired. but it didn't stop us from enjoying our vacation. I recommend

Suitable but tired.

Great location. Rocky start. No power in the bathrooms for 24 hours until the electrician could arrive. This issue could be remedied if someone checked on the unit closer to guest arrival.

This condo wasn’t what we expected. The odor of mold and mildew was overwhelming. When we walked in the door, we literally wanted to walk out. This was my wife’s birthday trip, and she was extremely disappointed. We tried to air the condo by opening doors and windows, which was a failed attempt. We bought Febreze, and that only masked the odor for a couple hours. The smell was so overwhelming that we couldn’t sleep at night. To make matters worse on our third day there, the water and electricity were shut off due to the utilities not being paid. We were promised a refund by the owner for the day without utilities, but at this writing haven’t received it after repeated attempts. We chalked this up to a bad experience, so we packed up and left a day early. If you like beds that roll to the middle, very small bathrooms, and the smell of mold and mildew, this place is for you. All I can say positive about this condo is that it was clean and had a pretty view.

Don't waste your money

This place is DISGUSTING. The caulking in both bathrooms is full of mold and both bathrooms should have been updated long ago. There is dust and spider webs in the textured ceilings. I dropped an earring and had to look under the bed to get it and the trash under the bed is disgusting. The bunk beds are flimsy and unstable and unsafe. Multiple lamps had burned out bulbs. The baseboards, window sills, and doors are filthy with grime. The icemaker doesn't work. The is a total of 1 dishtowel provided in the kitchen. Bath linens consisted of 5 bath towels and 1 hand towel for 2 bathrooms. No washcloths. The TV is a disaster;apparently all one can do is stream whatever streaming service you have on your smart device. Around 1/2 of a roll of TP is provided in each bathroom. The cookware consists of skillets that are mismatched and are of very poor quality and condition. The painting is very sloppy and there are cracks in the seams of the drywall and ceiling panels.

Great experience

My family and I had a great time staying in sugar mountain at Linseys cabin it was centrally located and close to shopping and attractions. It was quite and serene just what my family and I needed. It was close to Boone, Banner Elk and other areas which was nice and easy to get to. We really enjoyed Grandfather Mountain and driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Linsey was a great host, she was very helpful and provided plenty of information pamphlets on activities in and around the area. Would definitely return again.

Do not stay at this place EVER! At the beginning the owner was “nice”, she texted and called to check if “everything was ok”, we didn’t say anything about the bad qualities this cabin has because it was our first time staying at a place that is not a hotel. The property is a mites nest, old, terrible dusty curtains, rusty cutlery, damage dryer, old scratches on all the furniture, old and rusty hair dryer, the children's room has a hole in the ceiling that has an unpleasant smell, dust everywhere, it is impossible to sleep there and even more so when you have allergies. BUT THE WORTS PART IS: they will charge you for all the things that are already damaged in the property. We had an issue with an OLD stove burner cover which was paid directly and IMMEDIATELY to the owner, but guess what, They are in complicity with the person that cleans the house who sends old photos of unpublished damages the place already has and will charge you for it! I cannot recommend this place, it’s better to pay a hotel, there are lots of places to stay around the area. BTW, the tv doesn’t work, only Netflix and YouTube ¿?, no channels of weather… we finally ended up sleeping in the living room on an inflatable mattress that we bought yet ended up paying for repairs to the bunk bed we never used. We decided to leave the property a day early because the amount of dust was making it difficult breathe normally.

Perfect

I could not have asked for a better stay! There was tons of room for us, so close to Sugar Mountain. Full kitchen, beds were very comfortable. House was spotless upon arrival. Beech mountain is just a short drive as well. Lindsay was wonderful to deal with. I highly highly recommend and we will definitely stay here again.
