"I’d booked this hotel to break up 2 long drives. The only reason I chose it was that there was an on site restaurant. Was informed the restaurant was not going to be open via an email a few hours before we arrived. Frankly I wouldn’t have booked had I known this beforehand. "

"The family room is really simple, 3 stars max (probably 2 is more accurate), but clean, no issues. You will hear water running if you open the windows (It's located creekside). But the owner is fun and welcoming, it's quiet, despite being close to railroad (German trains are really quiet, and there are very few of them). "Great location for easy travel by SBahn into Cologne. Room was very good, spacious and comfortable. More attention could be paid to cleaning communal kitchen area."

On the good side, the location is wonderful on the Cologne waterfront near the cathedral and many restaurants. on the less good side, we booked a no smoking river view apartment but when we arrived we were given a rear apartment with no view and stank of cigarettes. We asked for a different room but no river view ones seemed to be available (the manager on site spoke little to no english) so we got another back room.
