"The house was one of the cleanest we have ever stayed at. We have been taking our children and grandchildren on a family vacation for 8 years now and have never been greeted with such an amazing gift basket! We used the lake every day for fishing and tubing and the had camp fires every night. The two bunkrooms and loft were perfect for our family. There are games and books galore. Never a dull moment at this cabin. David was very attentive as our host - communicating often to make sure we had the best time possible. We would definately return to this beautiful retreat!"

"First, a huge shout out to the host for the fantastic communication. Traveling solo for the first time to this area, I was a little apprehensive to stay in the woods alone. The host offered to meet me at the cabin for check-in, and I was also able to keep in contact with him throughout my stay; which made me feel a lot safer, in addition to my family knowing my location. The cabin is absolutely adorable, rustic, and so cozy. If you are looking for a connection with nature and tranquility, this is your spot and I couldn’t be happier with my stay!! (even though I had to head out a few hours earlier than originally planned due to personal reasons) I really loved all the recommendations and information in the binder. In addition, guests are invited to help themselves to cherry tomatoes and other garden items. If I would’ve had someone with me, I likely would’ve spent more time down at the water, but I loved sitting on the porch and listening to the trees and the birds, and reading my book!! Park Rapids never disappoints as far as shopping and food. I also got to check out Itasca State Park and Mississippi headwaters very closeby. Lastly, the bed was extremely comfortable and the kitchen has all you need to cook meals. 10/10 recommend!!"

"This is our second year coming to the school house...we love the space! We have 19 in our group and 2 dogs..enough space for everyone. My husband and I, being the sole payees for the week, get the master bedroom and bathroom on the main floor! We love the privacy All the rest of the kids, grandkids and 2 dogs, are in the basement..which is 4 bedrooms and 5 bunks..they also have 2 bathrooms. They divided it up as adults in one and kids in the other..it works for them! There is also a living room area, TV, and fridge downstairs. We also have access to laundry, which is great. Plenty of beach and bath towels! The kitchen area and butler's pantry is completely stocked with dishes, cups, glasses, pots and pans, utensils, spices, towels, hotpads, serving bowls and baking sheets. This year, to cut down on garbage, we used real dishes instead of paper products and it really helped. There is a dishwasher which we then used frequently. Our only issue is when the bottom rack is loaded, it comes off the runner because it's heavy. But we were able to deal with it. We recycle also, and there is an area across the road that we could easily drop it off. The beach that is a few blocks away was handy but only used it twice due to water quality issues. We went to a nearby beach about 15 minutes out of Park Rapids. First time was great, second time, the water had also changed so wasn't as good. But extremely hot weather will do that. Otherwise a great beach. Lots to do in the area!!"
