About this property

Dusk Till Dawn Forrest 360 views

Family-friendly agritourism property in Blenheim
Come stay at Dusk til Dawn Forrest.

A 1949 Bedford Bus sits on a ridge running East-West 800ft above sea level. Incredible panoramic views; south over Blenheim, Marlbourough Vineyards, Warau Plains, Wither Hills to Mount Tapuae-o-enuku out to Cloudy Bay and Cook Straight. Then across to the northeast looks up the Pukaka Valley past organic nature, bush, pine plantation, and onto Mount Robinson. West is Warau Plains, Pine Plantation, and a gorgeous sunset.

Stay in our 1949 refinished Bedford Bus with a double bed, and sofa bed. The bus can sleep 2 adults comfortably. If needed, an attached retro caravan is next door with a single bed for 2 kids or 1 adult.
Fresh flowers, free range eggs, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and much more will be provided for our guests during their visit.
We take pride in our self sufficient property, and would like to share this rare experience with travelers who want a chance to get away and enjoy the simpler pleasures in life.

Enjoy a heated fireplace, a fully supplied kitchen with two gas rings for cooking. Other amenities such as dish and hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, tea towels, dishes, cups, pots, pans, olive oil, salt/pepper, sugar, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate are all provided.
Please note that this is a simple living experience, we only have a compost toilet for guests nearby the bus. The shower and toilet are close by and very clean. There is hot water for the shower and kitchen sink, but we encourage using what we need rather than wasting. We collect all our own water and try to preserve it as much as possible.

A unique farmstay
The host made us feel very welcome. She even preheated the bus to warm us up on our day of arrival. A lovely bouquet of garden flowers cheered up the interior. We stayed in the bus which was well cleaned. The shower -with hot water available!- was just outside the bus. The fridge and the compost toilet were a bit further away. The toilet was a bit too far away for trips in the dark. The site offers beautiful views of the surrounding area. Close to the owner’s property there is a great view of the Cook Strait.

Kookie stay off the beaten track
A very kookie, different and enjoyable stay. The story behind the bus and where the owners live now makes the stay more special. A slice of tiny living. It has everything you need. Views are amazing, peace and quiet is almost unnerving given the busy we are used to. We took our 1 year old and even though you need to keep eyes on him the whole time when inside he loved it and we all enjoyed our stay. Best smelling compost toilet we have ever used - and we've used them before.

Absolutely fantastic place
This place is amazing. You can find the city view, ocean view and velly view at the same time. It's such an unforgettable experience waking up with all these views just right over the window. The stay is warm enough with a fireplace. And the hosts are so friendly. Highly recommended if you want to have a unique experience in this awesome lifestyle location.

Special Place + People
Sunny and Lou’s magical bus + property was such an amazing place to stay - we only wish we could have stayed longer! They are both spectacular people and could not have been more lovely or welcoming. The views from the bus, the stars, waking up in the cozy bed overlooking Cloudy Bay... it just couldn’t have been better. If you want to stay somewhere truly unique this is it!
