"This was a very small and basic room that was quiet, bed was comfortable and the shower was strong and warm. Breakfast was good with plenty to eat. I forgot to reserve parking onsite so we had to park down the hill at the garage and trudge our bags up the steep and narrow road."

"We were given an upgrade and the room was very nice, although the cost was very high at £180+ , which we assumed was due to the time of year. It was part of an 8 day trip which included 5 hotels and this was almost double the cost of the other, good quality hotels. The hotel and amenities are excellent and I would have awarded a higher rating for the ambience……however we were very disappointed with the set meal at £69 per head. We had invited my husbands mother to join us and felt that it wasn’t value for money. The bar was suffering from staff sickness and service was slow…..but the head barman was very good and apologetic for any inconvenience. Overall a very nice hotel, but expensive."

"I would have expected more regional wine selection at the bar. The breakfast was underwhelming (e.g., empty orange juice container, even though hardly any guests were at breakfast). The most annoying part was the fact that the hotel could only be reached via a 20 minute detour due to construction; it would have been nice if the hotel would have notified guests ahead of time"
