"The owners and staff were warm, welcoming and always willing to help. Very nice people. Loved that they had recycle bins throughout the property and separate bins in the villas for organics and other materials. The property and trails were beautiful, the flowers, plants, fish pond and ducks were nice to see. There were lots of birds to see and hear. Overall a great place and cant wait to go back."

"As the previous reviewer noted, the apartment we stayed in was not the one listed -- that apartment is on the first floor -- but our apartment (on the top floor) had the most amazing view. There was a large balcony that looked out onto the ocean, and my friend and I spent almost all of our time, when we weren't sleeping, out on the balcony. The sound of the ocean and birds was constant and delightful.

"Just a simple one night Stay. Property Manager was very helpful in getting us connected with a rental car and anything else that we needed. Great proximity to airport (will be interesting when the new Airport opens as it is right across the street) and to Store Bay/Pigeon Point areas. "

"Reception staff were very courteous and helpful. Amazing breakfast and dinner with elegant, soothing ambience. The facilities were all great standard. The hotel's maintenance, cleaning and restaurant/bar staff were all lovely. Perfect location, less than ten minutes walking distance from the airport and Store Bay."
"The property is big and pretty well maintained. However, it’s about a 10 minute walk away from Scarborough and so if you do not have a vehicle, you are a bit stuck. There is nothing much around the hotel itself.
Poor vegetarian food options.
Some staff members are amazing and helpful while others seem disinterested.
They offer a free shuttle to and from the airport
Slow in responding to messages (my experience interacting via Expedia messaging)"
"I was extremely disappointed with my stay at Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort. Considering the premium price we paid, the experience was far below acceptable standards.
The property is clearly not being properly maintained. There were broken balustrades around the resort, and several areas were inaccessible because sections of the ceiling had fallen out. This created an impression of neglect and poor upkeep throughout the property.
The room itself had a persistent musty smell, which made it feel damp and unpleasant from the moment we arrived. Things became even worse when we left the room and returned to find that something had been nibbling at snacks we had left on the table. Later that same day, we discovered a mouse in the room. After reporting the issue, we were relocated to another room just a few doors away, only to encounter the exact same problem again.
To add to the disappointment, the beach was covered with large amounts of seaweed, making the sea uninviting and essentially unbathable during our stay.
For the price charged by this resort, these conditions are completely unacceptable. The only positive aspect of our stay was the breakfast, which was enjoyable and offered a good selection. Unfortunately, that was not enough to make up for the poor maintenance, unpleasant rooms, rodent issue, and unusable beach.
I would not recommend this resort and would not choose to stay here again."
"The food and staff are wonderful at Coco Reef.
The beach is stunning
While the decor is dated, the rooms are clean.
It is my hotel of choice when staying in Tobago."
"Our experience there was awful. On arrival the hotel was empty. Leaves all over the compound lots of mosquitoes as were checking in. Got to Our rooms there wasn't any water to flush the toilet or wash my hands. No phones in the rooms so I walked to the front desk, there they proceed to tell me there is a problem with water on the island. I left that hotel the same day and checked into another hotel for the rest of our stay. I didn't get refunded my money. This was really horrible and management also wasn't helpful."
"Generally a decent location. The area is kid friendly. The bathroom towels quality and quantity could have been better. There is not much standard electrical plugs so ensure you dont need one. Overall visit was good."
"Sunset Reef was a beautiful, well-appointed house walking distance to the beach. However, that beach has very strong currents and wasn’t the prettiest beach but we still enjoyed long walks on it. It was so relaxing falling asleep to crashing waves. The property manager Katy Ann was very patient with us as we ran late because of a missed connection and also stopped along the way to pick up dinner and some groceries. The owner was also quickly responsive to any of my questions before the trip. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others."
"It was an okay stay. Wifi did not work so I had to leave the resort to actually work on my laptop. Not very many dining options except for the Waves restaurant. No telephone in my room. When asked at the front desk the agent said she did not know why. Property needs some updating. Once updated I might visit again."
