"We loved the hotel’s position right on the beach. The staff were very friendly. But could be better with just a few tweaks, like some chairs need cushions on. Less time waiting for orders to be taken and food did take a while sometimes. Rooms were good but being an older couple the stairs were an issue for us as there is no lift. We would stay again if we come back here to see our son as it was a nice break to recuperate after a long flight."

"A lovely, small guest house, with great hosts and staff and easy access to the beach. There is one good restaurant, which is open 6 days of the week, and other dining options are at a Fried chicken take away and a burger shop/cafe. "

"1st night no hot water. Geyser didn’t work. Aircons don’t work. Cockroaches in room. No soaps, shampoo, etc. They don’t accept cards and only told me this when I wanted to settle my bill the night prior to check out. The owner insisted on me walking almost 2km to go withdraw cash at 9pm. Which was a major inconvenience. I will never stay there again. NEVER!!!"

It was away from the traffic and about 10 minutes away from the grocery store, restaurants and the beach. We enjoyed Kris' company. He had our breakfast ready rain or shine. "Villa Alizee is probably the best and friendliest place we have stayed in the 4weeks we have spent on this island so far. We were made extremely welcome on our arrival. Our room was spacious and nicely furnished and we had a lovely patio overlooking the pool. The bed was very comfortable. Tea and coffee was available at all times. Breakfasts were made personally to order as were the evening meals. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more. Our hire-car was kept secure in a large on-site compound....

"Gite des acacias is only 10min drive from the airport in a quiet area. There is no phone reception there, but Wifi is available. We took the diner option and were offered a traditional creole dinner. Given that the best area to go and have diner is Mahebourg, about 20min drive, it is better to go for the dinner at theirs. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The room was comfortable, there is aircon however was extremely noisy and a fan was doing a better job. The room was clean, smelt very...

"Chez Jacques is a very relaxed, cozy place in a local neighbourhood away from the all-inclusive hotels. The surfspots of Tamarin Bay are at your doorstep. Manager Iwan is a genuine friendly guy and very helpful in giving advice about things to do, advice on where to surf, sorting out transport at affordable prices, etc, etc. Enjoyed my stay and without a doubt, would stay there again."
