Our stay at Sleepy Forest Cottages was great. My wife and I were looking for a cozy getaway, and boy, did we find it. The cottages had comfy interiors and charming decorations which set up the perfect vibe. Bedrooms were hotel equipped, comfy beds, plenty of linens and blankets. Waking up to the sounds of nature and sipping coffee on our private balcony was pure bliss. The staff (never saw, but spoke constantly through text) went out of their way to make sure we had a fantastic time, hooking us up with awesome recommendations for exploring the area. Whether you're after a romantic escape (w/ a fireplace), snowboarding (which I did, less than 5min drive away) or just some R&R, Sleepy Forest Cottages is the ultimate spot.

This property has put me on point to realize, Expedia’s rating system is so far off in its gauging or it’s interpretation of grading. They gave this place like a 9, when it was a high 5 at best and that was mainly due to the property being in a place like Big Bear Lake, Ca. I would stay clear of this place and would really think about what you are getting since Expedia’s grading system is SO far off.

I loved how quiet and private it was. No one bothered us and we were able to enjoy a relaxing spa experience as well as convenient for places to eat and snowboard. I do wish we had cable and we had silverware, bit we really enjoyed our stay.

Stayed in the king bed suit. The amenities and room were great! Had such a comfortable and enjoyable stay with the family. Will definitely come back here for our Bug Bear trips!

The tub was wonderful but the bed was so bad we had to leave early due to not being able to sleep at all. Staff was lovely but many other things were broken not working. We had to leave.

We booked a room with a bathtub in the bedroom. The pictures are different for each room on the listings. When we got there it was NOT the room pictured in the listing. They couldn’t get us into a room we were expecting and didn’t offer any compensation for the misleading information. Very upsetting after years of wanting to stay here.

I stayed in the cabin that had a whirlpool bath and fireplace. The whole cabin desperately needs an upgrade. The whirlpool bath had cracks, the bathroom was very run down, and the whole cabin felt claustrophobic.

The cabins were located in a perfect part of town, within a mile or 2 from everything you could need and some stores even in walking distance. Our cabin was roomy and felt like home. Some appliances seemed a tad outdated and television wasn’t working, but other than that the indoor hot tub and fireplace were picture perfect.

The cottage was very homey. It was nice having a kitchen, the heater worked great and after some help from the office the tv was able to work with our device for streaming. The staff were nice and helpful. My only issue was the bed being too firm but that’s a personal preference. We will be coming back.

Such a nice getaway from city life, with rustic, vintage decor and good amenities, including a full kitchen. Good communication with the courteous, responsive manager throughout and easy check-in/checkout. Pilot light on the heater was out, but easily fixed. The property looks to be pretty old, but even the occasional creaks from wood floors and doors add to the quaint charm. Will consider Sleepy Forest Cottages again on our next visit to Big Bear.

I run a YouTube channel in this town of Big Bear Lake, California, and my channel deals with tourism and the weather. For the price I was surprised in a good way. I have to be fully honest about everything they only give you one parking space but they accommodate us by letting my wife park in another empty cabins parking space that was truly if you want to call it a hiccup the only hiccup, but it wasn’t. Let me elaborate why I felt that wasn’t awesome I assume people on vacation from down the mountain will drive up and family members from other areas will drive up and meet each other at a hotel so in this case everyone has to ride together and you can’t have two cars there at least not parked on the property again they were very kind and they accommodated us anyway and the staff is absolutely fantastic just the nicest and the bed was a nice bed for my bad back. The fireplace was wonderful. Could’ve lasted a little bit longer. we tried using the Jacuzzi but before the water even gets all the way up to the Jets it’s already really cold so we didn’t get a chance to use the Jacuzzi in the room so I think maybe bigger water heaters would be a good idea But I would definitely stay here again I really enjoyed it and it was very peaceful

Cozy rooms. Little outdated but they are part of the rustic feel of the stay. Wi-fi and smart devices available. Hot water for those cold days. Overall, really good. I would stay in a bigger room next time.

Wow! AMAZING!!! From the moment we booked to the moment of check out has been an amazing experience. The reservations manager, Tatyana, is so incredibly kid, knowledgeable and quick with he responses! Check in and check out were SUPER easy and our stay was absolutely wonderful. The are is gorgeous, the rooms are so cute and functional and the jacuzzis are amazing!! We will certainly be coming back again and again and I HIGHLY recommend this property!!! Very decent prices and a vacation you’ll never forget! Thank you so so much to Tatyana and Sleepy Forest Cottages for the awesome time! We will be back soon!

I liked the location which was quiet with a lot of trees. But the room has seen better days. The bed is so worn out that I had to sleep crossways because it sagged so badly.The bathroom has a steep slant and the floor tiles are all cracking. The room was clean except no one thought to clean the ceiling fan, which when turned on, spewed a layer of dirt all over the bed.

great location in a quieter part of town. Close to a number of good food options and the usual fastfood outlets Parking right outside the cabin and easy access. The cabin is simple and adequate for a weekend getaway. In our cabin #15, the mattress has seen better days, quite uncomfortable, completely crushed in the middle and should have been replaced long ago, but it did have 6 pillows. The overhead fan clicked constantly at any speed other than OFF and made it difficult to get a solid nights sleep. The other option for airflow was a noisy window mounted fan.
