Just what we were were looking for. 6 adults and two grandsons(5 and 13) and two granddaughters(10 month old twins) had plenty of room. Beautiful log cabin with great mountain view. Hot tub was nice.
Sunday River Ski Trip! The cabin was very clean and comfortable. Very private spot with amazing mountain views from almost any spot in the house or from the huge deck. Adults and college age-kids were able to hang out together in the great room/kitchen area or split up into smaller groups in either the relaxing loft or basement game/bar/hangout area. Loved the fireplace (wood is in the garage!) and got a lot of use out of the hot tub (bring towels). Shannan was very nice and accommodating. Bunk room was a plus. Had a great time!
We spent our Christmas at the cabin and had a wonderful family time. Beautiful lodging, everything you need, and GORGEOUS views! Close to the ski resort. We hope to return in the fall during foliage season and again for Christmas 2024!! Great memories!
The property was everything it was described to be beautiful, well cared for luxurious cabin. Our family went there for our Christmas celebration. We really had a great time. We needed some help when we first arrived and texted the owners. Someone came within 10 minutes. Very good service to care about issue immediately
This house was fantastic for our group of friends! It was truly beautiful, comfortable, and accommodating. Everything was spaced out so that we never felt crowded. The large dining room table became the center of the room, and the hot tub was an extra treat. 10/10 would recommend!
Overall we had a great stay at this house. We got to check in early which was great. The fireplace is so cozy and the main room is an awesome place to hangout. If we had one thing that could have been better, the upstairs bedrooms need new mattresses. Ours sunk down in the middle and needed to be replaced. My brother in-law said theirs needed replacing too. Otherwise it was great!
We absolutely loved this place! So clean, and roomy enough to comfortably sleep 9 +1year old grandson with plenty I’d crawling room for him! Hot tub was great! We stayed @ cabin 2 while our daughter and wedding party stayed @ cabin 3. They both had such captivating views. Everything was so well equipped we couldn’t have asked for a better place to have a small wedding reception for our daughter. Wonderful memories forever! Thank you!!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Room for Improvements
TLDR: Oir group wouldn’t stay here again.
Pros: Communication prior to check in was good and the host tried to resolve issues as they came up, though they were not resolved (see hot tub issue in Cons below). The place is large and roomy, and most of the space was clean and well-furnished.
Cons: It needs work. The hot tub did not work and was left dirty and unheated. The host tried to resolve this, someone came and cleaned it but after 8+ hours of leaving the heat up, the tub never heated past 89 degrees on a mild day. Some of our guests said their beds were comfy, while two couples did not (upstairs rooms)— old/cheap beds and pillows on what felt like very used sheets, and towels were small and rough, etc., just not what we expected (and have received elsewhere) at this price point. Additionally, check in was confusing as we could not reach the host, and there were two nearly identical homes side by side so we did not know which unit was ours (not identified in check in information). Moreover, our unit was cold upon walk in (55 degrees). The shuffle board is a nice touch, but it’s more or less unusable, it’s busted up and has clearly had water damage, etc, to it. The downstairs door to exit was broken with no handle. Lastly, pre-check in the host requires you buy insurance, which is fine, though also requires a $1k deposit, which is held weeks after you checkout, so a bit unnecessary in my opinion, and have never experienced it with other rentals on this or any other app.
This was a great house for us. We are now a family of 13 and there was space for all. We could all fit at the dinner table and could spread out. Great spaces for kids or play and adults relax. Great proximity to Sunday River. Loved the fireplace and hot tub. We will be back. Lisa
We had a great stay at this property. There was tons of space for 9 adults and 1 large dog. The hot tub was an added plus and the view from the living room with the fresh falling snow was stunning. The host was excellent at communicating and answered all questions (of which I had a lot!!). I really appreciated that because it allowed us to be prepared for our trip. One recommendation in the winter though if you are when there's going to be a snow storm/fresh snow is to take a car with all wheel drive for the road to the house. We had a great stay and I would highly recommend!
Cabin was clean and well maintained. Very well stocked kitchen for cooking. Plenty of space for parents and kids to have their space. There were 9 of us! Exterior of the property was a little overgrown with weeds but we were usually not at the cabin except at night so it didn’t matter. Whole house generator came in handy as we lost power for a few days. Don’t plan on watching tv because the live streaming was awful due to poor internet. Service was minimal. Bring a portable DVD player and you’ll be fine. But overall the cabin was great! And the kids loved the very clean hot tub.
We just returned from our week at this property and it didn't disappoint! I'm hoping my review helps others who are considering this property.
Overall experience: very good. The house is stunning and was immaculate when we checked in. There was plenty of space for everyone to watch TV, read a book and just simply relax. We will be back!!
Getting there: The road getting to Mountain Vista is a bit treacherous with parts of the road washed away so you will need to be careful.
Driveway/garage: AWD and 4WD vehicles are a must to get here. We had a Tahoe and Traverse and still bottomed out at the end of the steep driveway. It also gets very slick with the littlest precip but Shannan and Joyce were quick to address with salt/sand. The garage is heated and big so it fit our SUV's with the ski rack on top with no issues. The wood is also stocked here along with trash/recycling bins and a can to dump the fireplace ashes.
Kitchen: well stocked with lots of pots/pans, plates, cups, coffee maker, toaster, etc. They also had some tin foil and saran wrap which was nice. I'd suggest bringing your own spices though. Gas stove and dishwasher worked great and they supply you with enough detergent for the week.
Fireplace: we used it everyday and it really added some warmth and comfort when watching TV. The wood was very seasoned but we brought some kindling to help it get started (I would suggest doing the same).
TV/internet: I had some reservations about this when booking but to be honest it was not an issue at all. Yes, it's just streaming and the internet lags a bit but definitely not as bad as some reviews made it out to be (and we had phones, game consoles, laptops connected).
Hot tub: this was the ONLY area that I would say could have used some improvement. The cover is very worn and HEAVY so definitely needs replacing. We just uncovered part of it while we were in it to make it easier. There is a nice custom built shelf on the outside where you can put your drinks so that was a nice touch. The tub itself was a bit dirty and cloudy the entire time we were there but it was hot on arrival (104 degrees) so could be worse! Shannan and Joyce were aware of the issue and working to get it fixed but unfortunately it wasn't while we were there.
Bedrooms: very spacious but you hear EVERYTHING if you sleep in the Master (no insulation whatsoever between the floors). If you are a light sleeper I would suggest sleeping upstairs.
Will be back!
Large family weekend away… we all had so much fun. Enjoyed the beauty of the mountains. House had tons of towels. Furniture and beds really comfortable. Bring your own bar tools for making drinks. Also they have three rentals on the same street all the homes look a like. So make sure you know which unit you are renting. It’s in the maps direction description they send you a few days before you leave. The loft area has stairs and is by two other bedrooms and a bath.
Celebrated my 40th with family and friends. The cabin was perfect and the views were beautiful. Close to Mt Washington State Park, Bethel, ME, and local trails. If you like hiking, this is the cabin to rent!
I would have liked to know what level the bedrooms were on since we had 4 grandkids from ages 4-9 and they were not able to stay in the bedroom (2 sets of bunkbeds) downstairs alone. Also, air conditioning in bedrooms were good but no airconditioning in the great room which was much needed.
The property is well maintained and has all of the amenities needed to enjoy the stay. We appreciated the washer and dryer in the home and the towels provided for the hot tub. We had everything we needed and had a wonderful time.
Mountain retreat away from everyone is exactly what we wanted. 30 minute ride to nearest grocery store so stop before getting there or it will take an hour round trip for food. Owners were wonderful on putting in a window a/c unit in the master. A/C window units in other bedrooms were already there. Owners were also helpful navigating the roku on tv’s since two were not working. Upstairs floor boards are just solid 2x4’s so in the master you can hear everyone walking especially in the bedroom directly above. Hot tub was clean…….party of 6 adults and one dog and we all loved this house.
