Top Bernese Alps Hotel Reviews

Essential by Dorint Interlaken
10/10 Excellent
"Great location right next to the train station. You can actually just walk out of the straight to the track. It’s very convenient especially since you need to take the train & bus to everywhere in Switzerland.
Only flaw with that is if you have a room facing the track (which we did) you can hear the trains. It’s not terrible but you do hear them on the track and can hear the beeping noises they make when they open and close the doors. Wasn’t terrible but there is some noise.
The breakfast is a must!! So many great options for everyone no matter what your preference is for breakfast food. It was delicious and definitely need to add that to the stay.
The room was comfy and great condition. They didn’t have the AC on yet but they did provide us with tall floor fan which worked great.
Overall it was a great hotel and a great experience! Highly recommended!! Ps. You also get a guest pass which gives you discounts and free access to the bus in certain areas (they provide the map to show the areas)."

Hotel Victoria Lauberhorn Wengen, a Faern Collection Hotel
2/10 Terrible
"*Do not book if you anticipate a late evening arrival*
My friend and I were commuting from Zurich to Wengen late in the evening (around 11:00PM). We called the hotel staff to notify them of our check in time, only to be told that the last train we were waiting for was under some sort of construction and that there were no more trains after midnight. According to the hotel staff, it seems like trains going under construction was a normal occurrence and it would take 1.5-2hrs to hike up the steep trail. We already knew it was a car free town so there was no way of even getting there.
We ended up cancelling our booked stay because there was no way two girls with two bags and three luggages would hike up a trail of about 500m elevation in the dark. The hotel gave us a refund for the first night but refused to refund the second night because they argued we still could’ve made the booking. It's already upsetting that our travel plans were disrupted, and I get that times are tough and maybe business isn’t great but it’s quite unfortunate that they couldn’t be more understanding of the situation.
Just a tip for anyone who reads this, unless you absolutely have to book a stay in Wengen, I highly recommend you not to. You are far better off staying somewhere in Interlaken and for cheaper as well."

Eiger Lodge Chic

Braunbär Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"Great location with Spa and really great staff. Local recommendations were spot on and one of our favorite places we stayed in 30 days of Europe. "

Beausite Park Hotel & Spa
6/10 Okay
"The view from the town-facing balcony is awesome. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the hotel itself is fine, just a bit dated. "

Hotel Regina Wengen
10/10 Excellent
"Excellent property. The ballroom and reception area were very antiquated and well maintained. Definitely get the deluxe double room with balcony for the best views on both sides of the hotel. "
