Great location of Berlin, clean modern room, balcony for people watching. Only opportunity for improvement would be the temperature of the room (a little warm for sleeping).

GOOD; The staff are amazing and the place looks brand new, with comfy bunk beds. The cafe downstairs is really nice, has nice breakfast and good coffee, public transport is right outside. BAD; My usb by my bed was pushed into the wall so I couldn’t use it to charge my phone on top bunk. No aircon, and it was soo hot all 8 ppl in the room couldn’t sleep. We had a small fan in the room that didn’t reach the top bunk. The noise outside the window was sooo loud! Could hear the ambulances in the middle of the night going pass several times a night and the tram going pass. Sound proof windows are needed. Bathrooms are relatively clean, the soap never foams in your hands, felt like I haven’t washed my hands after several days.

Thank you very much for the review. Sadly we do not have air conditioning but that is very common in Germany as the summers tend to be a lot shorter than the winters. It is also very unusual and alsomost impossible to have AC in an historical building such as the Circus hostel. We apolgise for that. Hope you had a great time in Berlin

Good place for making friends
I stayed for 3 nights with a friend. The stay was good and the hotel is located near many restaurants and next to a train station that makes it easy to go places The best part about it is the bar in the basement which makes it convenient to grab a drink and meet other fellow travelers. I made some new friends there. They bar has their own beer which was pretty tasty to be such a small brewery.

Great location in central Berlin with easy access to the U-Bahn, trams and buses. The hostel had a great atmosphere and the room was really good for making new friends. Can't wait to come back again soon!

Good location for public transport, or about a 20-30mins walk to all the major sites. Reception were super friendly and gave us great recommendations on places to eat and visit.

Perfect hostel for a solo traveller! Reception staff were lovely. Could hire bikes for €12 a day. Immaculately clean throughout. Bed was comfortable with a huge locker for belongings and a personal cubby hole with USB chargers. Hostel was in a great location with the underground and tram station right outside. Offered free walking tours which I did and really enjoyed. Very secure with keycard access required everywhere. Had its own bar with micro brewery where I made some friends. I really enjoyed it there for my first time as a solo traveller.

Best hostel in Berlin
Ive stayed in a lot of hostels in Berlin but this is by far the best. Spotlesslessly clean, comfy beds, great facilities and even relatively quiet. Area around has a lot going on and offers all you need for a short trip. Will definitely be back.

The fun and interesting decor. Staff were friendly and always helpful with our enquiries. Also gave us great suggestions on places to see and where to eat. Breakfast at hostel was plentiful and huge choices for EU5. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Bedroom was good and comfortable. Will definitely stay at circus hostel again.

Amazing location, amazing staff. However your booking systems needs to allow for staff to add notes, my group of 5 who asked prior to booking to be in the same room couldn’t be made possible even though when we arrived there was an empty bed. Don’t ask. Annoying also that the USB ports next to my bunk were broken but none the less it’s a wicked hostel. Great flat white- the little cafe is a god send

Clean Hotel, not a Hostel
The Circus Hostel is NOT A HOSTEL in the traditional sense. It's a cheaper, decent quality hotel. Although there is a brewery/bar, it does not promote a social atmosphere in the traditional hostel sense. It's clean and it 'does the job' for a peaceful night's sleep, but it is not a hostel. The breakfast buffet which costs 5 Euros is average. They are so cheap that they don't offer coffee or tea refills! The only positive I will say about the breakfast is that they have eggs! For as much profit margin as they seem to be getting, the least they could do is provide unlimited coffee.

Such a great hostel! This was my first solo trip and the circus hostel made it so simple. It really helps that it's in a central location. Highly reccomend!

Too Far from Everything but the Wall
The hostel was great, however, the roommates were questionable. Berlin is very spread out and so no matter what location I would have chosen, it would have been far away from things.

Overall great hostel. Spacious rooms and friendly staff. Good location. Not enough toilets in each floor in my opinion. No power sockets near the beds, just USB common area is quite small for such a big hostel, with limited sitting options

Great Hostel, friendly staff, room was spotless, comfortable bed, great value for money. We stayed in a twin private room so didn't see the dorm rooms. Great transport links with a tram and underground station right outside.

Very clean and the beds were comfortable. In a really great location with tons of shops and restaurants and close to some cool attractions. Loved the brewery downstairs and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Close to a lot of attractions, the City Circus feels like a home away from home. The staff are friendly and helpful about getting around. Breakfast is good value, first drink ordered is free (though I wasn't impressed that because I said coffee before orange juice, they charged me £3.20 when if I'd said orange juice then coffee it would only be £2, seemed like semantics to me). The bar/brewery downstairs is great fun and the bartenders are super friendly. They brew their own beer which I thought a nice touch. The rooms were clean and I loved the Hasselhoff prints about the place, always nice to see a hostel that doesn't take itself too seriously. Close to public transport (tram stop at the door!) but no need to take it as you can walk everywhere in Berlin. Didn't have a problem with any guests and stayed in a 6-bed mixed dorm (though it appears all bathrooms are shared which I found slightly unusual). All up though, probably my second favourite hostel in Europe. Would definitely go back!

Love this place!
The best hostel I have ever stayed at. The staff was AMAZING. There’s a breakfast cafe and a bar inside the hostel. Rooms had lockers and bunks with outlets and privacy nooks. Highly recommend!
