Great location. Next to a Christmas Market. Very clean and great bathroom! Old building but inside was quite nice. Near a busy street so we heard sirens often but didn’t affect sleep. You do need to go up stairs just to get in. Then there’s a lift to take you to your floor. Great place and value!

very nice, but...

Older but nice hotel, great value and location. The only down side was that the internet was terrible. Last time I was there I could connect through a neighoring establisment so it was not an issue but not this time.

Good location - but in serious need of an upgrade

Great location - 5 mins from Zoo Station, and the heart of the West End shopping/restaurant area. Staff very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good. And if you had a room at the back overlooking the yard, it was very quiet. But... a lot of steps. It's a very higgledy-piggledy layout and sorely in need of a complete overhaul. Old curtains, old carpet, old furniture. Room was very dark - the lights weren't very good. And the internet was dreadful.

Friendly staff, terrible beds, not full elevator

Likely the most uncomfortable bed I have ever tried to sleep on. You have to haul your luggage up 2-3 flights of stairs to get to the elevator. Not disabled or HC friendly. Staff will help if you go up and ask, but there is no way to get to front desk assisted. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the facility is just not designed for xomfort or ease of access.

The position, near the K'damm, is good. From the airport (BER) there is an easy journey on the S-bahn to Zoogarten (taking just under an hour, a train every 20 minutes) then a 4-minute walk to the hotel. The K'damm is excellent for restaurants and shopping. The hotel is run-down and needs a face-lift. My initial room had only two ceiling lights, badly positioned and one not working. The telephone also was defective. Happily I was able to move to a better room from day 2. Those who find stairs hard to negotiate should go elsewhere. Cleanliness is satisfactory. The only food served is breakfast. The cooked element is scrambled egg and sausages. This gets boring. But there is a passable cold selection. The reception staff are helpful and speak good English.

Pay a bit more and find something better!

Climb up 8 steps to the outside heavy doors, struggle to open it and climb another 12 steps then 4 more up to the Lobby area. Stair carpets worn and 'duct taped'. Handrail on the stair non-existant. Room door lock was old fashioned key lock and difficult to open. Room was full of old 'brown' furniture. No A/C in the room. TV system was advertised as 'satellite' but many of the channels 'No connection' and all were German. Parking status should read as NONE. (2 days of parking around the block cost $80).

Un bon hôtel Standard avec des tarifs bas.

Nous avons passé une semaine dans l'Hôtel Acom. Celui-ci est dans un bâtiment d'un ancien Hôtel de Luxe près du Zoo de Berlin. L'entrée impressionne par des colonnes en marbre et des peintures anciennes. On sent que l'Hôtel commence à dater par rapport aux standards récents (ex : pas de café/thé dans les chambres, baignoire, absence de clim) mais nous avons été satisfaits de la taille de la chambre, de la qualité de la literie et du calme général. Il est important de signaler que les prix sont bas donc très bon rapport qualité-prix.

I would have given this hotel five stars, but the only reason I haven’t is that the furniture in the hotel room and decor were dated. Also, some of the furniture was a bit bashed and battered. In the ‘90s when the stuff was new it probably was absolutely great. Having said that though, the room was spotlessly clean, the bed and bedding very comfortable and the bathrooms also clean etc. my room was also huge, it really made a difference spending time in a larger room, I enjoyed having a small armchair and table to sit at and also really appreciated the fridge. The location was really faultless especially for the price!!! Great location. I really enjoyed my stay, thank you.

Basic of basic accommodation

Very basic accommodation. If it's only a place to get washed, changed and to get a sleep then this place is fine. No kettle, no phone but does have Wi-Fi throughout and a tv in the room. The accommodation is situated at an excellent and handy location for transport near the zoo and Kaiser Wilhelm Church.

Das Hotel hat einen tollen Charme. Sehr zentral und ein gutes Frühstück. Das Zimmer in dem ich war hatte alles was man brauchte, sicherlich wäre aber eine kleine Sanierung auch sinnvoll um den Charme in den Zimmern weiter zu führen

Die Unterkunft ist ziemlich abgelebt, teilweise wird hier und da renoviert. Der Mitarbeiter am Empfang war sehr langsam und wirkte ein bisschen überfordert. Auf Nachfragen eines zweiten Kopfkissen und generell nach Zahnputzbechern, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass es das in diesem Hotel nicht mehr gibt! Die Toilettenspülung war auch defekt. Der nächste Berlinbesuch nicht mehr in diesem Hotel!

Hotel is great for the shops, Christmas markets and train station but it is quite dated. I asked for extra pillows but was told they had none. I asked when we checked in if we could have a late checkout and was told to ask again the day before we were due to leave but when I did this was informed it would cost 70 euros when the cost for a whole extra night was only 59 euros. I asked another staff member and paid 30 euros to extend checkout to 3pm which was a reasonable amount to pay.
