For those of you from the USA, just round the corner from the hotel is a Costco, and you can use your US membership card for the best gas prices ! The hotel was clean, spacious, and great. Would stay here again without hesitation

I selected hotels with a swimming pool and this property came up in a search. £111 for a standard double room.. which I was prepared to pay as it had a nice looking pool. On arrival however it transpired that the pool and spa were closed for refurb! The receptionist took pity and 'upgraded' my room but the shower was old and grubby and not very powerful at all. Felt a bit duped by the whole experience. Raised my concerns on checking out and had to wait a while for the manager to come.. who said she could only refund the extra £15 I paid for breakfast. Tbf the breakfast was really good, but all in all disappointed that A) it was listed as having a pool and B) cost that much for a grubby shower and no swimming pool. Unlikely to return

Horrible staff they laying that they have swimming pool when they took our money then they told us that swimming pool is not available very expensive too please don’t waste your money

Good stay overall However the pool and changing rooms are were a disappointment. The changing rooms stank and are really outdated , jacuzzi was closed. Breakfast was nice Reception staff v helpful

OK as a business hotel.
A business hotel in a quite an isolated position. Its a tidy hotel, the room was very large and the staff were friendly but I had a few major issues.. the toilet did not flush (at all!); room service took 1hr and 20 mins and some of the bedding didnt smell too fresh.

Nice hotel, nice room, unfortunately the location is not the best but if you have a car the main shopping area of reading is only a 9 min drive. I would stay again, the man who checked us in Jan or Yan was very nice and professional

very bad experience
stayed here many times and always good but this time it has gone down hill and staff did not care for their regular customers. there was a massive party in the first floor wigh hundreds of people and the noise from 10pm to 4am was ao loud we xould not sleep at all our room was right next door to the party where that room should not be hired, must better service at hilton or crown plaza

Great location, friendly check in and helpful. Parking was spot on. Ideal location for getting around. Only part i found awkward was breakfast. Staff were not as friendly, and when asked our room number they were saying it wasn't there. This was sorted by reception but i found the restaurant staff a little bit abrupt. Overall a great stay though.

I forgot how much I enjoy staying here.
A very relaxing stay. The suites are just a relaxing home-from-home. All the staff friendly and helpful from the bar to the resturant to the night manager. All went the extra mile. Helpful they now have electric car chargers in the car park. Had a wonderful night at Cilantro's resturant with friends. Great food and ambience. I'm not normally a breakfast person - but the buffet and breakfast room is lovely....

I would like a refund for at least half the price because the spa very unkept and swimming handle was almost falling off which was a hazardous!! I was unable to use the spa for that reason and I felt cheated. To add the jacuzzi was also not work I mean the whole spa experience was non existence for those reasons.

Complaint Ignored
Ruined my 5 years birthday! The hotel was old and the service awful. All the facilities are old and breakfast was slow and machines weren't even working to get a coffee. To get anything vegetarian took 30mins. Awful service all around and if I could get my money back I would! Then complained to Le An Guan Front Office Manager and my complaint has been totally ignored.

Just an average hotel. Rooms are clean, but the spa area is old, dirty and poorly maintained. Staff was fine.

Great property, stayed here after Reading festival. Only downside is for £320 a night you still have to pay extra for breakfast.

Would possibly only return for the bed
We arrived at the hotel at 3 to check in and was told the room isn’t ready because the hotel was full the night before. They asked us to wait in reception but with 3 year old twins that’s not so easy. We weren’t offered anything as an apology and we’re just left to sit there and wait with 2 of the reception staff being rude like it was our fault for chasing the room. Once we were in the room there was marks on the bed sheets, split tea/coffee in the cracks of the bathroom so had to put towels down. Our son is autistic and will only have a certain milk to drink that we packed especially, when trying to put it in the mini fridge it was warmer than the room, I asked reception and they were sending maintenance to check it (they never came equaling in wasted milk) The restaurant staff at breakfast were lovely and the food at breakfast was lovely, the beds were probably the best beds I’ve ever stayed in so feel really disappointed about the other areas. This was our only break away with the kids over the summer holidays to lego land so have left feeling disappointed especially with what I paid for 2 nights.

Our stay for Legoland was brilliant and the room was excellent. Really fabulous sized room for 5 of us and very comfy beds. Staff were excellent at all times from the desk, cleaners, waitress and Le cafe staff. Very helpful.

Great stay and good value for money
We stayed 2 nights while visiting family & friends.The location was great,staff super efficient,food offer great especially breakfast and the room was very comfortable and clean.On check in,Mohammed explained the facilities and also mentioned the football match being played the following day and there would be certain times during the day where we would be unable to reach the hotel (wasn’t a problem for us as we were out all day)

Staff at entrance as very welcoming and good at check in. Main reason I chose to stay here was due to the fact it had parking. But issues I faced were poor internet connection, constantly having to turn internet off and back on on my phone. if you switched Wifi off and try to use your mobile connection, the building has poor signal coverage especially for EE. Not a comfortable bed, on both nights had a poor sleep. The bedding is so poorly done, bulges over and on side. bathroom looks like its been pulled out of a Travelodge and thrown in. mold around the bathtub shower. shocks me how hotels can't simply clean of have maintenance remove and replace. I asked for the pump on the conditioner to be changed, but this was not done. the breakfast is okay. but on Sunday the service was really bad. I requested for a portion of pancakes and smashed avocado on toast. waited over 15 minutes. completely poor service and were unable to tell me how long it will take and made to speak to manager. fruit is just brought and placed no quality check to see what the fruit is like. watermelon was basically just water no flavour. the avocado was not even ripe and not smashed how it should be. this is due to it not being ripe. this is the 2nd IHG hotel I have been too, and to be honest I don't think I will stay in an IHG hotel again.

Very comfortable room. Desk and restaurant staff were helpful, friendly and provided great service. Would stay again but maybe not when a football match on as we could not get our car out of the overflow car park as the road is closed for 30 plus minutes. Would not rate the hotel meals and would not eat there again for dinner.

It was a visit/stay like a dream come true. Super!
One of the best experiences we had in any hotel. Welcoming staff, spacious room, exemplary cleanliness, customer services outstanding and we really enjoyed hot tub and swimming pool. I stayed in many hotels in UK and USA but this visit at Voco was above and beyond in excellent stay compared to many others. The only thing I would like to suggest is for breakfast, there should have been an option to pay as a family one payment not individual price for everyone. Like £25 for family group price instead of separate price for adults and children. Just a suggestion.
