This was pretty much a perfect overnight stay. The property was very easy to locate with plenty of parking and I was able to park very close to where I was staying. Staff was very polite and courteous when booking me in and showing me to my room. I have never walked in a hotel room to be greeted with such a clean and fresh smell and when I went out to get something to eat later that evening, when I returned the smell was as good as the first time. The room décor was smart and had everything I needed including a lovely compact kitchen with a fridge for my drinks. It was really nice and quiet and afforded a great night's sleep on a very comfy bed. Breakfast was served promptly to allow me to get on with my day and was really tasty. I would love to stay here again in the future.
This is a value for money spot as you have a microwave and refrigerator so can be quite independent. Parking is great and the accommodation was clean and spacious. Ideal
The hotel was good for the price, and the staff was very nice and helpful. The area around the hotel does look a little sketchy, but we never had any actual problems. The hallways did smell of weed/cigarettes, but once inside the room you couldn't smell anything. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay.
The Sure, is an older property kept in good order and should be full every-night. It's humble, old school, charges a fair price for a comfortable stay. The water is hot, the bed is clean, the room was quiet, had a microwave, kettle and small fridge and a tv. Everything you need. Stay here.
I stay her every time I come to Reading, warm and friendly reception. The rooms are clean and warm with good facilities.
The Oracle shopping centre is only a 15-20 minute walk away, but there are also plenty of local shops just around the corner
Run down rooms in need of a good clean and refresh. Very small room with tiny bathroom. The bed looked like the corners had been chewed by a dog! Breakfast was OK and the staff were pleasant but for the price I paid for a nights stay I would expect a much better standard of accomodation.
The room was spacious with 3 proper beds - often we get a camp bed style bed when we have a family room. We also didn't realize that there would be a microwave and a fridge in the room which was great to store bedtime milk in.
Easy walking distance to the centre of Reading and the train station.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay.
Building exterior was amazing, but deceptive of the rooms. Additionally, had a "standard" room that was nothing more than a broom closet in comparison to other "standard" rooms.
I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions and the experience you have is definately related to which room you are allocated . Anywhere in the adjacent buildings or towards the back of the property and your stay will be fine. Try and avoid a room at the front if you want to sleep at night. What i would say is that the staff are great and very receptive if you have an issue
Set back from the road so quiet in lovely residential area. Pleasant, helpful staff. Being alone, they made me feel secure. Their suggestions worked out well for me. Thank you.
The property requires upgrading and a complete refit, the rooms in the lodge are small and minimal
The beds have seen better days, the base was broken mattress lumpy, not value for money staff were reasonable helpful and polite
Let me start off by saying that I understand England is not the US. I've stayed at hotels in many countries. This hotel has a few things going for it, the biggest being that it is about a 15 minute walk from the downtown area and train. However, lack of maintenance and service quality renders this hotel as unsatisfactory. No AC is a major issue in the summer, don't listen to what folks say about not needing it. The gym is unusable. I would not return to this hotel, or England for that matter, without AC.
